Chocobo Breeding Announced

Make it so your chocobo needs a special greens to ride on, have this special greens be sold in the same fashion as regular chocobos: the more people buy it, the more expensive it gets.

I don't think it is fair to make people pay the same price to ride a chocobo that they spent alot of time and gil raising... mabye a special food that increases their speed/riding time, however? Not by alot, just 1-3% per upgrade. Like merits! 3 first upgrade, 3 second, 2 third, 2 fourth, 1 fifth. Overall it would be a little under the speed boost of Strider Boots or a national aketon.

maybe the more races you win, the better your chocobo gets...or maybe the longeer you ride it, the better it gets...or something to that extent...we just have to wait and see how the actual thing is when it comes out :D

I envisioned it as a Circus Maximus type thing. I think it would fit well with the Arena and Collisseum planned.

An underwater track would be awsome. you could see all the fishies swiming around you just like in FFVII.

I'm more concerned with the fact that they're again trusting the same people who came up with the idea that nerfed BST.

Btw, still waiting for them to announce when this update will happen.

Also was just thinking: Stable medals were one of the prizes given in the last event. I wonder if that means you'll have to go to specific stables to raise your chocobo, unlike just being at any MH and sending your moogle to go check on your plants. May be totally offbase, but if your gonna be spending your time with the choco to build trust, seems like the stables wouldnt be willing to transport your choco to whever you are just so you can play with it...atleast not for very cheap.

Since SE has already indicated that Chcobos won't be for riding (unless the Playerbase indicates that this is something they would like - which...haven't we been doing that from day one?), I don't really see what's so hot about this.

For me its just the idea in general of having my own choco. Plus we will get to ride them in the races later this year. Right now, thats enough for me.

Did they say we'd get to ride them specifically? Or is it like some NPC jockey? Because that would suck.

Now that you mention it, I don't recall anything specifically saying that it would be us actually riding them. That would certainly suck if it was completely a spectator sport. However, I think thats part of why we have to spend time with them to build trust. Also, I think there would be many thousands of players on SE's doorstep ready to choke some people to death if that were the case, and I think (hope) SE knows it.

I don't know. I could see my charcter wearing a seersucker suit and sipping a mint julep while some poor fellow rides my chocobo for me in the races. Then when he wins I can step in and take all the credit.
