Square Enix is holding a weekend of fun during March 9 to 11th over in Santa Monica in Southern California!

Cost: $85 pre-registration, $100 at the door
When: March 9th (Registration), March 10th (Event), and March 11th (Event)
Highlights: First chance to speak with Japanese dev. team (Producer, Battle
designers, job planners, etc.), gobbie bag for each attendee, a special
in-game item (which I can't reveal the details on... yet!), Ballista Royale
finals, live events and contests... and more (which will be announced at a
later date!)

I'm tired of this crap always being in california. There is NEVER a game event done in the states other than california. Why couldn't it be done in a more central part of the country, like chicago. I don't live there, but it's a hell of alot closer than california >_<

I'm lookin up rates.. whats the closest airport to Santa Monica?

LAX is the closest. it's about 10 minutes south on the 405.
this is probably your best bet. its very close and you can either take the 405 to the 10 freeway to get to 3rd street pier or you can actually take local streets all the way into santa monica.

Burbank airport, which is a commuter airport is also close by, but it's on the other side of LA. i'd say it is about 20 or so minutes away.

note: all these times are w/o traffic. however, in LA traffic is horrible any time btwn 7am-10am and 230-730 pm during the weekdays and on weekends its pretty haphazard. basically traffic is something you need to consider when coming to la. give yourself ample time to crawl through the freeways if need be.

I'm gonna try and attend.. but that probably means not gettin an Xbox360 for awhile (which I plan on playing FFXI one).. So I got a tough decision to make...
