Ok Just downloaded the update, I have 2mb broadband and it took 10 minutes to check the files, 22 minutes to download them and 3 minutes to install them so all in all about 35 minutes for the update. FF went back online at 22:55 GMT.

I am kinda curious to the total filesize of a update from scratch.. FFXI + Rise of the Zilart + Chains of Promathia.. I can think about 300mb at least. It's odd how Square-Enix doesnt gives herself to the work of hosting a patch instead of a full update everytime you must install FFXI. Prolly they prefer to pay bandwidth other then host the file in fileplanet or so? O.o a update CD would be an idea.. Btw.. I know you can backup the FFXI directory after it is fully patched but if I want to make a full instalation wizzard for it so that I dont have to always install the whole FFXI and then copy the other directory above it, what should I do? I need to know which registry the original FFXI instalation creates.. |
