Well if I remember most of the times in FFV Dancer would be more useful as sub ability than main job, because the main job had sub par weapon and armor choice. I too would be worried about the viability of it(as a main job) in this game, but it IS still a possibility. In FFT if I remember right, Dancers could be tweaked with gear to give them near 100% physical evasion... They were also more focused on debuffs toward enemies in that game. A pretty useful job in its own right in FFT.

Re: Next Version Update ind December!

I loved Dancer in FFT and in FFV. But in FFT i had to keep her FAR from a fight or guard her seriously. She could usually be one shotted in fft.

Re: Next Version Update ind December!

A little off topic, but this is a strategy I use effectively in almost every FF game I've ever played(guess why I chose THF in FFXI ;p). Anyways, in FFT as Dancer slap on any Dancer's weapon(they all give Phys EV+50%) then slap on Feather Mantle(Phys EV+40%) and you've got yourself somebody who'se incredibly hard to hit. I did the same in FFVI with Locke(there's actually a glitch in the game, EVA doesn't matter, Magic EVA works for both Phys. and Magic attacks), because there was a combination of items to get near 100% EVA in that game as well. Who cares if they "can be" one shotted if they are never hit?

Other jobs which are in FFV that aren't in FFXI are Mystic Knight(some say RDM abilties already cover it), Time Mage(same as previous with WHM), and Dancer. Dancer's may seem similar to BRDs but they focused more on positive stat buffs for themselves instead of entire party iirc. I'm sure there's countless other jobs that could be pulled from FFT and FFTA though.
I would say aside from the MP, a DRK is real close to a Berserker.

Also, if dancers were more concerned with themselves, then how do they benefit the party? They sound like a support job that doesnt support anyone but themselves.
Have it so a mime could only mimic one person at a time perhaps? His two-hour would be how he mimics other people. In-between the two hours, a mimic would have to rely on the same abilities as the target. That way, such a problem wouldn't arrise.

A mime wouldn't need the necessary equipment, for the most part anyhow. I don't think.

2h, "Door Knocking", the Door Salesman will knock on the door and the enemy has no choice but to open it, since he doesnt know who's on the other side... anyways, he then proceeds to whack the enemy in the head with a hefty leather covered suitcase, brand new and shiny, the enemy then keeps the suitcase and the Door Salesman earns 10gil. That's so usefull.
I want to be a doors-salesman! LoL

Anyhow, I hear so much about Dynamis-this and Dynamis-that, someone care to tell me exactly what a dynamis is?

Re: Next Version Update ind December!

I know Fenrir appears in the later missions for windy, but were these missions available before Fenrir became summonable? I'm not sure of how it was back in the day, but it might earn some validity to one or both of them becoming summonable in the future. (Avatars already being in plotline before they become summonable.)

The Fenrir summon was added quite late, the missions were there long before the summon. He only appears in cut-scenes aswell but I suppose that's the same as Bahamut really.

One reason I don't think Bahamut can be made summonable though is that unlike Bahamut Fenrir always was an Avatar to be summoned. In the missions he's power summon who was forbidden to be used. Bahamut isn't considered to be an avatar, he's the king of the Wyrms.

ok then, if not bahamut, then at least give us SOME cool dragon.

not being able to summon a bahamut-ish avatar was what turned me off from smn in the first place. give me a dragonish avatar and i think i mat take smn up for awhile^^ at least to 30, for promy's

Re: Next Version Update ind December!

I know its great to have these updates, but the downloadble ones they could change the time for. Tomorrows maintenance update is from 5:30pm-23:30pmish, now when you consider I work all day and don't get home till 7pm, and go to bed at midnight, there ain't going to be no FF for me tomorrow its not the first time it has done this (3 updates in october) all at inconvienient times for us Europeans. not been funny, but it seems we always get the short straw when they look at update times, no longer you Japanees and americans are so far in the game, we receive the game months after you, we get delayed by updates at the usual prime time time that europeans can play due to school and work commitments during the day, maybe they should cycle the updates to different times so not just one "sector" get delayed all the time.

"rant over"
