Hello. Is there any way I can tell how much reputation I have? Is it different from the fame you earn by completing missions? I have completed about 10 quests but only the first 2 starting missions in windurst. If these two things are one and the same please excuse my stupidity. The reason I ask is there are a few npc characters that I have talked to who mentioned something about me not having enough fame and or reputation and I just need some clarification.

All you could ever want to know: Reputation - FFXIclopedia, the Final Fantasy XI wiki - Characters, items, jobs, and more Rank - FFXIclopedia, the Final Fantasy XI wiki - Characters, items, jobs, and more Short answer: Reputation and Rank are not the same. Reputation is for quests; Rank is for missions. FFXIClopedia will help you a lot when you have this sort of straightforward game mechanic question - I highly recommend you bookmark it.

There is a NPC in each city that will say something different to you depending on how much fame you have. The wiki (ffxiGOD) site that Armando provided will help greatly. That site will have a table that will interpret what level you have based on what that NPC says. Sandy's is in the tavern right outside the MH in S.Sandy... can't remembe the tavern's name or the NPC's though.
