I was just wondering, if you cancel your Playonline account, will your character last forever like WoW, or does SquareEnix delete them eventually?

I was just asking because I play several different MMOs, and while I like this one, I can't afford to play all of them every month, lol.

Mostly, I'd just like to know if they delete automatically, and if they do, how long they last. That way, I at least know how often I need to pay the monthly fee to keep my character alive.

They will not delete them immediately, or really, anything close to it, but they do not guarantee your character will be there indefinitely. Still, you've got quite a while of leeway time. A year? A bit more? So no worries.

Your POL account is free, your content id's are not. If you cancel your content id's, your characters are left intact for a while. If you leave them too long you may need a return home to vana'diel to get them back but they are still somewhere.

If you cancel your POL account, your characters are gone forever. Because your POL account is what your credit card info is associated with, it is deleted.
