Read all stickies and guides, ignore what anyone thinks you should do and play the game how you want and most of all enjoy it. yes it can feel like grinding sometimes and is difficult, but hey this is not meant to be an easy game.

I don't think so.

Summoner != Pokémon

And even if it did, I still would never recommend Summoner to a newbie, as s/he would likely be quite disappointed by the lack of actual Summoning. Not to mention that the job itself is severely newcomer unfriendly: you practically need to already have a job already at 75 in order to play Summoner to its fullest as it is right now.

No. Summoner is broken, and I would never recommend it to any newcomer, at least until it gets fixed.

I thought it was a fun job and I was level 43 in my highest when I played it. You end up being a healer till 20th level then you do the solo 20 cap fights, and then your a healer that gets to bloodpact release about once a minute while healing as long as you can manage your mana.
I think the adorable rodent looks like the one you posted and since I didn't mention which pokemon you must have seen enough of a simularity to asume him ^..^

I distincly recall the OP's avatar at the time this was posted was a Pikachu, so . . .

This point is moot. You directly admitted you thought there was a similarity between Carbuncle and Pikachu in your previous post by proxy of the OP's original avatar, and I directly disagreed with your post. You know all of the above to be true.

And I would still never suggest Summoner to a newbie, seeing how totally broken and newcomer un-friendly it is. Hi2u Carby Mitts? Hi2u2 MP/WHM?

I would never suggest it to anybody until it gets fixed. Period. And recommending such a broken job to somebody just because you think they like Pokémon? Do you want more "Titan i choose u lol" macros? I mean, if I were to stereotype like that, I'd at least suggest Beastmaster: first off, it acts more appropriate for such an assumption, and, plus, it's a far more stable job than Summoner from what I've seen (but, they're mostly soloing, anyways). But, such an assumption is still flawed, as Pokémon fans don't automatically look for Pokémon in everything they do. Take me, for instance, who has little interest at pet jobs at all, and rather sees himself as a True Red Red Mage. Likewise, the OP might fancy themself as a Paladin, instead.

So, please, don't make those assumptions, because we all know what happens when you assume.

Haven't tried beastmaster yet so I couldn't say as to how simular/different those jobs are.
I personally think it's enjoyable to try several jobs and I made a quip for humor regarding his avatar. The fact I enjoyed summonr and I don't have a 75th job at least indicates players can enjoy it before reaching endgame. I don't remember his avatar since it changed before I made the 2nd post I'll take your word that it was picacho rather than another pokemon (I frankly neither remember for sure nor am concerned enough to worry about it beyond taking what I thought was a good natured poke at you for being so serious hence ^..^ sometimes substitued with <g> or lol, exc)

I found when I started I played around with several jobs to see what I liked. I would certainly hope no one runs a job to 75 they don't like since there are so many others to play with once you discover you don't like it. Since 20 cap fights are in place to allow all the avatars but fenrir and diablos the job is no longer 75th only I honestly don't see what you dislike so strongly in it.

Just a observation: Life is much more pleasant if one maintains a sense of humor.

In all fairness, i have been a Summoner for pretty much over a year, but i love the job, broken a little, yeah but that hasn't stopped me or will stop me from discontinuing playing this job. At the end of the day if you enjoy the job then use it, enough said.
