Ahhh, those were the days. I remember being a young 70RDM partying at (Moon), also KRT. Back when parties used to SC and PLDs actually tanked IT+. It was also when Water and Ulli camps were the best xp in Vana for regular parties.

Youngsters nowadays don't even know the joy of a Citadel train or a Yuhtunga alliance to kill an Smithy. It's a pity. *cough* *cough*

I remember slugging RNG through moon in the early 70s when the Deco camps were full.....do people even bother to get the key item to get back there anymore?

Another couple of old school camps I used in the late 60's/early 70s: Spiders in Dragon's Aery, Tigers/Cocks in Kuftal (near pelican), Tormentors in Den of Rancor.

I went and got the Moongate key mostly for nostalgic value, but no one has ever wanted to XP there.

I did end up XPing on Spiders in Dragon's Aery once..... Don't go... Please don't go... The slowness is so annoying you'll want to strangle real life people.

I once saw a gilseller party XPing on Tormentors while finding a coffer.


Most old-style parties I've been in just ended up in Bibiki.

Not to mention Sickle Slash can one-shot a 70 NIN with shadows down. It was a horribly slow camp, but that was back in the day when anything above 5K/hour was considered "good XP" for a standard PT.

Ah, moon. I remember getting the key for that, mostly because I liked having keys to open obscure doors (Lookin' at you, Toraimorai!)

KRT's one of two or three areas you can access without any expansion packs and get to 75 on. SE has always kept it possible to level to the cap without having the expansions, although it's not pretty. Trying to remember what the other ones were; it's possible in the beastmen areas, but I'm trying to think of places people actually used.

I did that once in a manaburn party. Me (mithra), an Elvaan Male and 4 Tarutaru. We looked like a cute family.

Ulli was a fun camp, especially if you had competition. I remember standing in the middle of Ulli's room and grabbing anything as soon as it popped. It was like camping Ulli but with regular statues.

Cape Terrigan (manticores, what the fuck were people thinking...) , Bibiki Bay, KRT, Ro'meave. Monastic Cavern... Boyhada tree... horrible, horrible.

I remember practically no one had merits back then, it was retarded to put yourself through the horrible 75 camps more than needed.

The biggest thing I hate now is people acting like they won't PT without a PL or a BRD. I saw someone shouting for 3 hours for a BRD for an xp PT...

There aren't any pre-RotZ camps for 60+ because genkai 3, 4, and 5 weren't added until after RotZ. (The high level parts of KRT, including Vrtra, were also added later. This is also why KRT is the only non-RotZ area to drop a hakutaku eye.)

Teriggan was mostly about the crabs, fish and raptors, though (which was late 50s IIRC). Occasionally cockatrices. I don't remember anyone exping on manticores, there or anywhere else.

Valley of Sorrows raptors/greater birds.

Kuftal Tunnel - crabs on the main floor (although I guess that's pre-60), and at higher levels, tigers/cockatrices/wyverns in the depths.

And believe it or not, there were a couple of exp camps in Den of Rancor - lizards and IIRC mandies near the entrance, fish and doomed farther down.

After CoP, Lufaise Meadows giant birds (and occasionally rams, but those were mostly for manaburns because of their TP move that reduces max HP by something like 90%. That plus 1-2 hits kills a tank, and even if you erase it quickly, you still have to cure in time.), and Uleguerand demons/ahriman (taurus if you were really hardcore). Uleg camps were a pain to get to, but a lot more fun than beating up some wimpy crabs.

It doesn't matter what you remember, people did it. And he asked pre-CoP so I don't know why you're listing CoP camps.

Duh. I was saying that you can get to them without expansions. As in,thinking of space, not time.
