Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

Yes, he's still camped a lot. Drop rate is turrrrible though.

54BLM should have no trouble soloing it

Spawns in Castle Oztroja, walk in from Merip. Mountains, bear left, take second right, go into main room, take entrance on left side, takes you to an room with an island surrounded by water. He pops in that room along with another NM.

happy hunting

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

IMO, you're far better off just farming the gil or going without them.

They're nice, but not super-critical and are replaceable by end game. Seriously, the drop rate sucks and competition is always fierce for him. You could in all likelyhood come up with the money for them by the time they actually dropped and then sell them back on AH when you're done.

If you really want to camp them then go ahead, and I wish you luck they're a great item to have (especially for MNK and NIN) but I personally have camped that SOB for far longer than I can stand.

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

My friend and I spent a day in there camping for his Samurai. Our last kill before we had to go to LS event got the drop, so we were happy. Or rather, HE was happy, I was just annoyed. ^>^`

There was always competition, which is why its good to go as a pair or group. There were quite a few people who left when they saw that neither of us were ever AFK and that we were constantly clearing the yags. ^.^ All in all, I think we ended up being 1/11.

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

Although I've heard the horror stories, I consider myself very lucky. I went 1/4 on the kotes, and 1/3 on the boots (which, BTW, do NOT spawn in that same room, but the other room to the south that's set up the same way as the first room).

There was barely anyone there to go after them, and the few people I met there, I actually added to my friend list because we had a fun time of being there, seeing who would get the claim, and cheering on whoever did in hopes they got the drops. Not all servers are the same, and this is just my example of the way it was for me. You mileage may vary, and I wish you the best of luck.

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

I camped this a-hole of a NM for ages (i.e. years). The kotes dropped several times but I always let someone else have them. When I decided to go back to leveling again and needed them, no one I helped to get them bothered to help me. I camped it, got claim 20% of the time, and never got them. I finally gave up. So I will send what little luck I have to you and hope that you get them asap! Good luck!

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

I've tried camping this NM 2 or 3 times for friends before it became Ex. Getting claim was a challenge because of competition. We claimed once but didn't get drop.

I don't know how it is now. I wouldn't spend more than a week trying to get them. If you fail, build up money over time or just go on without them. No need to spend an excessive amount of time on an item just to come out on top of the parses when SAM is already a strong DD as it is.

Best of luck to you if you decide to camp though. NM camping can be very hit-or-miss in this game. I know people that go 1/3 or 1/4 on a lot of things whereas I've gone 1/20-something on something as trivial as Leaping Boots. A good friend of mine actually went 1/1 on Jaggedy-Eared Jack just passing through Ronfaure one day.

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

I farmed those stupid Kote for a couple of days before getting them... however this was like 5 years ago, and you could still AH them after using them. Back then I was able to claim probably 75% of the time because all the other farmers were usually AFK. I really enjoyed having them and I'll probably be out farming them next weekend to get them back =)

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

Fun fact: She quit and gave the charm to me. It's been collecting dust ever since. I can't bring myself to sell it.

Would've been cooler if it had been 1/1 on Argus though =P

Re: Mee Deggi the Punisher

I'm 0/alot on this guy, wanted them real bad when I was leveling SAM. I plan to eventually go back for em, but honestly as long as you know who the placeholder is, it's not hard. With Cannonball I never got outclaimed on BLU since I always knew the second the PH was going to spawn during his window.

EDIT; Changed it to 0, 1 would mean he'd finally fucking drop it >_<
