By recent I mean in the past ~6 months.

About 6 months ago I tried to kill Nunyunuwi (CoP 5-1) and twice ran out of MP after getting it down to around 10% and had to run.

Anyway, I just soloed him in a few minutes and maybe used 100-150 MP.

Both times I was RDM/BLM, had the same gear except now I have Jet Seraweels instead of, Wise legs iirc, and have maybe 5 levels of MP merits that I didn't have before.

So really, did I miss some big change to this guy?

I did two different Promy Hollas since the update...and both times the boss was *far* more of a bitch then he's been in years.

Maybe something got bjorked?

Are we talking about the Golem NM outside of Promy-Vazhl? If so, that one has been a wimp for a long, long time.

And the Promy-Holla boss is always a pain in the ass.

Yes, him. The thing is I didn't do anything different this time that I hadn't done the other time. My gear hadn't significantly changed all all I cast was Dia 2, Poison 2 and Frost. Other then that I swung a sword.

6 months ago with it's regen it could just outlast my MP. This time, I recast Refresh once, Haste once, Phalanx once, Dia once, Poison once and well you get the idea.

It just struck me as ... odd.

Sorry about the slight necro but I think Mhurron has a point. I have done Prommy-Mea after the update twice and at both times the mob in the BCNM has done nothing but spam Carousel the second it hits 75% HP.

There's a way to fix that.

Bring animas.

Nothing changed about these fights, people are just being as dumb as ever about them. Its not as simple as level syncing your gear down and going in.

Yes I'm dumb because carousel killed the WHM the second the first anima wore. Bravo for pointing that out.

Anyway, it isn't unusual for an update to affect other things that have nothing to do with what they listed n the update notes.

It could be that or simply good/bad luck. /shrug

No, the WHM was dumb for not being on the stairs. Or the melee were dumb for letting the NM on the stairs. Or the WHM was dumb for overcuring which would draw the NM to the stairs. Or the PT was just dumb in general for not coordinating thier animas to overlap.

I've been doing promys for years. I've pretty much brought every one over 30 who has ever been in my LS through them and haven't had this much trouble with the Holla boss since the first time I fought him.

And it wasn't because of Animas, we had 4 sets the first time and 5 the second, and it wasn't because we didn't have a good set up or a decent anima order. He was just a hell of a lot harder then usual. And the gear scaling thing didn't even play a factor either because I was using my usual promy cap gear and most of the other people invovled were on jobs at or around 30 anyhow.

When I try it again next week I'll know for sure if they were fluke fights or if it was something different. Because usually when we go in to Holla, the boss dies before the second poison pot and 3 anima sets wear off. But those last few fights he just wouldn't go down.
