Bu'Ghi Howlblade

So I thought I'd take my friend camping for her very first NM ever (aww!) and we decided to give Bu'Ghi Howlblade in Palborough Mines a shot. He sounds easy enough for the two of us (I'm a BLM 15/WHM 7 and she's a WAR 16) and if he should drop a Scale Gorget, well all the better.

I know he's a lottery spawn that appears after killing copper beetles, and I know about where he spawns. But is there anything else we need to know to help us out? It's only a level 12 WAR, so I'm not worried about beating it, but does anyone know its drop rates, its respawn timer, or anything else that might prove useful to us in this quest?

I've all ready been there. That's how I know what I all ready know. But it doesn't say everything, like the respawn timer or the drop rate of items. Plus, I just thought that people with experience in camping it might know of a few tips or something that the site doesn't cover.

Well, for those who are interested, we've camped Bu'Ghi five times. So far, he's dropped the Marine Shield every single time. Not too bad, as they sell for 10k at the AH in Bastok (in Cerberus). He has yet to drop a Scale Gorget or a Quadav Helm yet, though.

After five times, we were ready to quit and just use the funds from the Marine Shields to buy a Scale Gorget (they cost 20k), but there aren't any for sale at any of the AHs (Bastok, San d'Oria, Windurst or Jeuno) and haven't been for at least 4 months or more.

In case someone actually does put up a scale gorget for sale, don't buy it. It's not worth paying 20k for. 1 Defense will hardly do anything for you, Justice Badge would serve your friend just as well.

If someone put it up for 2k at Jeuno then it'd be different, but then again you'd probably have a very hard time getting rid of it afterwards.

If you're having fun with the NM thing, you could go for the Van Pendant. You can't sell it, but it's a higher drop rate and better stats than a scale gorget.
