What is HNM's

I must be very noob. But what exacly is a HNM?
I know NM means Notorius Monster, but what does the H mean?
High NM? Homo NM? Hulk NM?

General consensus is that the H means "Hyper" or "High", they're basically monsters who are harder then they should be for their level or are just super duper rare. For example a regular ram in Konstach would be about lvl 25 and easily soloed by any 30 job, the NM ram is about lvl 35 and easily soloed by any lvl 40 job, but the HNM ram is lvl 55 but can still kill a lvl 75 player unless they're prepared.

An HNM is a "Hyper Notorious Monster." One which usually spawns every 21-24 hours such as King Behemoth. Aspid or Fafnir/Nidogg. They're high level NMs with very lucrative drops for various jobs and they also drop abjurations, which are used to make certain pieces of armor.

You could've even answered the question then said, hey there's also a wealth of FFXI info here, it's a good place to look for questions like this in the future. When someone posts a noob question, you have 3 options: Answer it in a douchebaggy way, answer it in a non-douchebaggy way, or ignore it. Just plopping a link to the front page of a wiki, when as Cotners said, you know the answer easily, is in fact a douchebaggy way.
