BCs for the level 65 Torques - which one?
Since my RDM is 65 and SCH is coming upon the same level, I figure it would be a good time to start working on getting the level 65 torques for magic skill. While not urgent in priority since both jobs will usually be asked to heal in PTs, I'm looking more for future manaburn and endgame use for getting them.

Already have Master Caster bracelets and Druid Slops, so that's good.

Anyway, seems like I have two Sacraficial Chamber options for BCs and one also in Chamber of Oracles. Tonberries, Shaghins or Anticans. Not any of them are pleasent choices, it seems, but I'm leaning toward the Anitcan one since it follows the flow of the ZM6 mission rather closely.

Guess I'm just curious which one people have had the most success with.

Anticans are the worst. Don't do that one. They have enormous Dark resistance and amazingly annoying WS (AoE petrify is extremely dangerous).

Sahagin or Tonberries are better. Tonberries are a little weaker, as long as you don't have a ton of Tonberry enmity accumulated.

Most people do Tonberries. You have three very good torques that drop from that BCNM out of a possible 8 (Wind, Enfeebling, Elemental), and you get two shots at the good ones each time. Plus Tonberries are weak to Sleep (though resistant to Lullaby and Repose), making ES Sleepga II a viable option for control.

Re: BCs for the level 65 Torques - which one?
Something else just occurred to me, now that I've had some sleep.

All of the NMs in all three mentioned BCNM battles have their respective job's 2 hour, so make sure you account for that.

The Sahagins have weaker 2 hours. Benediction, Call Wyvern, Soul Voice, and Hundred Fists. Of these, only Hundred Fists is a serious issue, and it can be defeated easily via Shadowbind, Bind, Gravity, Sleep, etc..

I would recommend doing them in this order: DRG, BRD, MNK, WHM

The Tonberries have nastier 2 hours. Mijin Gakure, Astral Flow, Perfect Dodge, Manafont. Mijin Gakure is the scariest - make sure Barfira is up when fighting it, and make sure you have some quick burst damage to knock his HP down (read: multiple BLMs or SCHs, though at least 1 BLM for Stun and ES Sleepga II is a good idea). Magical nukes are a must since the Thief will Perfect Dodge, costing you precious time where the remaining NMs could wake up. It's been a long, long time since I did this particular BCNM, but I think the SMN can call an extra (random) pet for Astral Flow, similar to how Kirin and the Carbuncle Mitts NM can, so don't think you're safe just by sleeping its normal pet.

For this one, I recommend killing them in this order: BLM, THF, SMN, NIN.

Do Jungle Boogeymen. It's a pain to get to but two torques always drop, plus whatever else.

What he said. It has the worst set of 2hrs, but it usually more than pays off for the trouble. Its Astral Flow has never been really dangerous from experience. Last time I did it (back when torques were several mil lol), 6/6 with no deaths and all but one orb had a "good" torque in its loot pool.

Emmm, peachy

Actually I've found the Antican one to be one of the easier fights.. Probably just because I've done the similar ZM fight so many times for friends that I got used to it.
