Despot... ¬_¬
Wanted to see if I could get some help here, me and my end game have been trying in vain to pop Despot since it was updated in that version update a month or so back. We've had people camping him pretty regularly but have still yet to get a pop. With as little trouble as we have with the rest of the Sky pops, it's really left us pretty confused.

Just wanted to see if anyone knew anything helpful for popping this guy... not too much good info on FFXIclopedia as far as the lotto pop goes... just kinda seems there might be a trick to it or something.

Anyway, any info anyone may have would be greatly appreciated... I'd like to get some Kitty-Pants some time this century... T_T

From what it says on the wiki page, it looks like the spawn conditions are really ridiculous now. It's still a lottery spawn, but it looks like you pull placeholders and if you get lucky Despot will pop already claimed to your party/alliance five seconds after you beat the PH.

They took an despot which was being whored by rmts, and broke it worse. Best way is to have 2 plds, nin, war/nin each pull one side and have your blms nuke them all down.

Re: Despot... ¬_¬
Yeah... Must not be very lucky then... we've litterally had an entire alliance camping this dude for 8 hours... And totally nothing. Unless that place holder shifts at anytime. I've even tried sac pulling them and despawning then starting fresh as they re-pop. That hasn't worked for us yet either...

I'm just kinda frustrated cause we have the Ulikimmi(sp?) pop item, but are missing Despot's Pop item for our Byakko Spawn... Since the V. Update, we're starting to think he's become some kinda myth or even been moved somewhere else... T_T

Gotta agree with you there Sev. RMT in sky was already well under control without making this change. If SE is having that much trouble with it they should make the pop trigger-based like they did with Ullikummi.

Re: Despot... ¬_¬
Despot hasnt been all THAT bad for me I guess.

But you are not doing anything wrong, just kill PH's, and he will pop.

One good thing about the way it is now - it stops large groups monopolizing the area.

I duo there with another RDM and the first night we tried, Despot popped after our first kill - claimed to us, with 3 other parties there. We literally was just trying out a PH to get a feel for it.

Since then, I've seen enitre alliances there the whole day, obviously to no avail. Also seen an unclaimed Despot there becuase 2 or 3 parties (judging by the amount of dead bodies...) all wiped. haha.

Re: Despot... ¬_¬
It also stops alliances from pulling like 3 dolls at a time then camping the repops.

Re: Despot... ¬_¬
Fastest way to get Despot is to take two small groups(if you enough people), like 2 4man partys. Put one party at each end of the pop area and just murder everything.

Before they changed his pop conditions, there was a "secret" way to get him to pop faster but I'm not sure if it's the same. Havn't played in about 3-4 months now.

Re: Despot... ¬_¬
Like Sevv said the fastest way to get it is to have a bunch of BLMs just -ga all the dolls down. If you don't have enough blms, then just pull like 6 at a time. Problems can occur when some ass wants to diaga them on the sleep; but usually don't have that problem.

If you're meleeing it down, make sure to pull all the pops before grabbing repops. From what I've experienced Despot will pop from 1 particular random PH. So if all you are doing is killing one side it won't pop untill you pull from the otherside and kill whichever one is the actual PH.

We're not as active in sky as some shells, but I rather prefer the new pop conditions. I like to just go up there with 1 or 2 others and get the drop rather than eat up 18 people's time camping something so simple as Despot. Now we don't have to put someone watching pops, someone pulling, nor compete for claim. Also stops people that arn't killing PHs from claiming (unless you wipe) after you do all the work.

I havn't noticed it any harder really to get him to pop; we've probably gotten about 9 or so pops since the update only camping him every couple of weeks. Just kind of luck based now.
