I hate them all. Camp for hours and the the items dont even drop. Sometimes I think the GMs are just sticking it to us.

I like camping new nms. I don't really have a favorite atm. I used to camp golden bat ages ago. That was fun. Thats was back when the capes would sell at the Sandy ah.

Thanks Kazuki.

The one that shows up after you kill the Orcish warmachine never shows up though. Its always some Orc fighter.

Re: Fav. Nm
At the moment, I got a good one. I have a static (just 4, really) with some RL friends. We haven't actually started the grind on our chosen main-jobs, because we're trying to get all possible subs levelled, all spells for a good stretch of levels, etc.

So we've got COR (me), DRK (my brother, Runetooth), DRG (my cousin, Jurgen), and WHM (Jurg's schoolmate...Skarru...yes, a Taru).

Well, after happening upon the Bomb King and his Bomb Ring in the Lilac tower of Outer Horutoto, I did some research. The ring, oddly, goes for 50k (wtf?), although I've had problems getting one sold for even as low as 28k. But anyway, I discover that not only does the tard-tacular Bomb King frequent that tower, but Dopplegangers Dio and Gog pop from the same placeholder. They drop the Cruel Scythe and Cruel Spear, respectively.

The scythe is quite nice for a lv.20 DRK. Turns out the spear is not so hot, selling for a paltrey 5k atm. But the scythe is what we are after. It will last Runetooth a good while, and it's fun to kill the guy responsible for "Holy Diver."

We've gotten the Cruel Spear twice, and between the two of us, the AH, and the MH, we have 5 Bomb Rings floating around waiting to sell. Regrettably, no scythe yet.

But this whole crew is almost comedic to hunt down. The only time anyone else is down there at all is when they are passing into deeper sections of the dungeon. And the whole thing is like Russian NM Roulette. Kill the one balloon, wait for a mystery date to show up, and brutally murder him. It's a good way to pass the time. Respawn on these guys is only 8 minutes, so we can hunt these goobs down all night and fight each of them a handful of times.

Yeah, I used to spend hours down there. I think I went 0/5 on BK though and got about 20 spears and scythes.

I camped them in my mid 30s trying to make a quick buck. The ten minute spawn timer wasn't bad at all. However at the time there always seemed to be other groups there as well. Drops weren't the greatest. I got one spear, three scythes (one I kept) and a few bomb rings.

I should go back sometime now that I have a thief sub capable of Treasure Hunter. Lately I've just been farming dhalmas for their femurs and hides.

EDIT* checked the prices of the bomb ring and scythe. Only 20k each on Ramuh

Thanks for the sig, Selphiie!!

I never saw them drop once. I just bought the Earth Greaves and called it good. I've remembered to use them 0 times since.

Understood. I don't hate you that much anymore. Wouldn't mind the ring though. Can you pm some details on exactly which ride he spawns on. And why the hell does the boat get out of order. Or maybe you could start another thread about him since we kind derailed this one.

Thanks Kazuki.

Ain't that how it goes? I could care less for another bomb ring, but I couldn't get the scythe even if I sacrificed my left one to Altana. Next time I start this hunt, I'll ceremonially say "I wish I had another bomb ring..." aloud and see if fate doesn't put that scythe in my lap.
