I want situations where the only reason the mob attacked is that the player rested. If I can get that, I will attempt to duplicate it based on the statement of the player. If I can duplicate it, I will start removing other methods of aggro, until I disprove that the mob only aggro'd to resting.

If I can walk up to a non-true-sight mob with full sneak/invis/deodorize with full HP and rest, if that mob attacks me, I will bow down and claim that resting aggro exists. I don't believe that this will happen.

I agree with all of you nay-sayers. I just want someone to challenge it.
Good luck in your "search". More than not, whenever someone claims to get aggro while resting and has invis/sneak on, it's a true sight mob.

All monsters in Davoi aside from Davoi Wasp and War Lizard are aggro. You may have rested near one of the sound-aggro enemies like Geezard or Wolf Bat, which would have dropped your Invisible spell and caused the train.

Re: Aggro to resting/sitting
what about the classic bogy on the ice pond in qufim? i firmly believe it only aggros if you are 1) too close 2) not sneaked or 3) yellow HP. However, many believe it'll aggro you if you are resting. I've never really bothered to confirm one way or the other though...

It won't simply aggro resting. I've rested on the ice on the little pond lots of times.

Re: Aggro to resting/sitting
The detection path for that Banshee in the ice pond of Qufim is really weird, possibly because for a monster to aggro, it must find a path to get to you, which that broken ice seriously restricts. You almost have to be on top of it for it to notice you sometimes.

Re: Aggro to resting/sitting
Another fun aggro fact that some people may not know: magic and blood aggro, although pretty long ranged and 360 degree, don't work around corners. There must be uninterrupted line of sight between you and the magic/blood aggroing mob. In some cases even a pillar or other obstacle between you and the mob will prevent aggro (although this is somewhat risky, if the monster moves). Even true sight mobs can't see around corners.

Defeated: Maat, Divine Might, Fenrir, Kirin, Cactrot Rapido, Xolotl, Diabolos Prime, Kurrea, 9/10 Dynamis Bosses (missing Tav), Promathia, Proto-Ultima, Proto-Omega, 4 Jailers, Apocalypse Nigh
RDM75, PLD75, DRG75, DNC38, COR30, RNG34
Windurst Rank 10, Bastok Rank 5, ZMs & PMs Complete, AUMs Complete, First Lieutenant, Holyknight Emblem

Yeah, that reminds me of when I used to solo Qiqirn Archaeologits in Aydeewa Subterrane. If there were little itty bitty plants in between us, I couldn't cast on him until one of us moved an inch. I could see him prefectly, but I'd still get something about not being able to see him. They'd do that all the time.
