So it seems to nullify haste gear for some reason, as it's noted in the posts that utsu recast became unaffected. TP is about 13 a hit (amazing!) and slower, but there's a boost to attack similar to the recent 2 handed changes.


Now for the part that's sheer f'ing win; IT WORKS WITH WEAPONSKILLS!!!

So Dune boots seems to affect Asuran Fist and Dragon Kick WITH footwork.

Because without my DMG was normal.

Attack from 400 to 444 with footwork as MNK/BLM and Dune boots dosnt add base attack to footwork

Damn I sure glad I got those boots now. I have to wonder though, if Dune Boots are still king (they damn well better be for the effort it took) over all the newly added leg pieces that visibly state "Enhances Kick Attacks"> <

Apparently, asuran fists also gives an average of 40 TP return. Go go maintenance!

OK i thought i add this, theres a new h2h . stats, dmg +8 delay + 48 "kick Att +3" set increases hp, vit, acc, range acc. Looked in other forums and wiki and nothing about this weapon has been said, is selling for about 50-60k in bahamut server, but thats +6 kick att if you wear the strikesub, dont know if its even a good idea but ill be giving these a try to see if it changes anything along wittht kung fu shoes.

ps, i have no idea what they mean by set cause i cant find anything and they are lvl 69 h2h called useshi, also no idea how much of a increase we talking about

All +Kick Attacks gear is simply an increase to your rate of kicks. They have no bearing on Footwork.

And no more necro posts! No one gives a damn about footwork anyway, please lock the thread.

No Mal I will not lock the thread. There is nothing wrong with someone ACTUALLY USING THE SEARCH FEATURE and posting in an older thread to discuss something instead of making a new thread. You achieve the same damn results in the end.

Youre right, it increases rate of kick, thats what im trying to say. As per wiki

Game Description: Occasionally adds kick attacks.
Job Traits are always active.
Further Notes:
  • This trait is only active using hand-to-hand.
  • Kick Attacks can give Hand-to-Hand skillups.
  • Occasionally adds an additional kick attack each combat round.
  • Kick Attacks II is thought to have a base rate of 10%; that is, for each combat round, there is a 10% chance of a Kick Attack occuring.
  • Merit upgrades of this trait affect the frequency of activation, at a rate of 1% per point added.

Now with all this in mind, dont tel me that you cant add a lil extra dmg per fight with this? I know it has been discuss over and over but im simply saying, with new gear popping up shouldnt we experiment alil, not trying to say to focus on kick att, i just simply think that we could add a lil extra dmg or hits to our DoT. I know people will talk about haste but, this is just thinking out side the box, like the pople that proved to every one that mnk/war is ultimately a better choice over mnk/drk and that mnk/drg, althoug not as popular as mnk/war or mnk/nin, is way better than mnk/drk, and who would of thought back then that mnk/nin was goin to be a must at some point at lvl 75? if it wasnt for people experimenting and adding data, specially when new gear came out there wouldnt be no mnk/nin and people would have laught just at the tought of it, just like people did with war/nin. So please, if you do know, what the thread is about and you have no patience in dealing with the subject, then just dont read it, and if you do but dont like it, then dont post, it will save you headaches in the future, i just came to this thread to post up on this new gear for people who experiment with kick att.

P.s if youre wondering where did i get the mnk/drk deal, i actualy got it from the search function when trying to make a thread, pretty good idea and who ever put that func here is legendary.

Footwork lowers your DoT, severely. Even with my Dune Boots the JA is just so pathetic I never use it anymore. Note the above photo mocking it.

I know SE's intent was to give MNK a mode where hand-to-hand functions similarly to 2 handed weapons for the sake of fighting HNMs but...

It still sucks if/until SE decides to adjust it. The increased damage just isn't worth the increased delay and huge loss of attacks and TP gain. On average with my Dune Boots I'd say I kick for approximately 1.5 fist swings. If a Double Attack goes off, that's some nice TP and damage done but the fact remains I could have swung potentially five times without Footwork active in that same attack round.


It doesn't even stack with Hundred Fists! In all honestly it's complete fail, don't even touch it unless you're pulling too much hate and need to slow down a bit (that's about the only thing it's good for) because chances are anything you "need" that damage increase for is better off being Chi-Blasted anyway.
