Is it me or other taru mnk's actually perform better as a monk then when you performed as a warrior even with a GAxe or Sword?

I actually hit something with damage.

I don't think they perform any better at MNK than as WAR, but I can see where it might feel that way.

Until WARs get Rampage, Monks can generally outdamage them. This isn't really much of a surprise, and has little to do with being Tarutaru.
