DD belts
After level 48, is it better to stick to the pruple/brown belt for haste when we are DDing? Or better to switch to life belt?
The haste looks so sexy imo but 10 accuracy is hard to ignore.
what do you think?

Planning to level up Mnk next \'A'/

Re: DD belts
I wear life belt if it means I can eat meat - assuming I do noticably more damage per punch (10 more a punch on average) with meat while keeping at about 80% accuracy. If I'm using sushi, I don't need the 10acc on life belt.

With a bard using madrigal, I generally don't need sushi (and on lower IT, no life belt). Which is incredibly sexy. Last party I could do that in, I was punching for 70-90 a punch on the birds in bibiki at 64... I was doing more damage per punch than the SAM was per swing, and the RNG was doing per bolt.

Bard + Monk = <3

Uh. Back on topic.

If you go with sushi and brown belt combo, I really recommend o.kotes if you can afford them. +20 attack is very good for MNKs using sushi.

By the way, avoid sushi until level 50+, rice dumplings work great for attack and +5acc.

Re: DD belts
I wore the brownbelt, its silly not too really. Str+ and Haste+ is alot better than a +10acc belt which you still hit as much without. 2 x Snipers and sushi are fine. PC if you can otherwise Specticles once your 59.

Re: DD belts
As a career monk (without a brownbelt yet, *frown*) I find that anything where you have to sacrafice str for acc (or visa-versa) you should carry both (if you can afford it) so that you can swap them out.

Sometimes those freaking raptors evade too much or the "low evasion" on that crab is a lie. Its good to be able to swap things in and out to figure what works best for you.

Re: DD belts
I've seen excellent taru melee's and tanks, so ignore them. I personally use a brown belt and eat sushi for added accuracy, I love it. But if you can, I recommend you get the life belt as well and carry it with you to each exp party.

The reason why I say this is because of two things, it depends on your food of choice, meat or sushi. Also, in the new areas, you mightl be fighting Colibri's and these nasty tucan's will eat your food and steal your TP if you happen to draw its attention for a moment.

So rather than cry everytime he eats your sushi (like I did), you may want to stop eating food all together when you fight them and switch your brown belt to a life belt. It'll help you make contact.

Re: DD belts
wow been soloing for 2 hours. Only guard once, for 0.2 skill. I'm level 12 now with only 7 guard skill :/
Anyway to make me guard more? Boost up AGI?

I don't know if it's worthwhile to actually skill up guard with intention. Probably just solo, farm, and tank lower-level mobs that you can handle (i.e., mission NMs), and let it come along on its own.

As far as increasing proc rate, I agree that boosting AGI would have the desired affect, based on the affect that AGI has on Shield and Parry proc rate. Unfortunately, I don't know that enough testing has been done to support or refute this. Personally, I'm confident that if you made a dedicated AGI build, with consideration for Guard skill gear at mid- and upper-levels, you'd notice some difference in Guard proc rate over a significantly long period of time.

Re: DD belts
I haven't had a situation where I needed an accuracy neck piece while using sushi. I tote around +12 accuracy while eating sushi. +5 from sniper, +5 from AF body, +2 from the fairly overpriced tiphera sting that I'll likely sell once I work up 2m more for o.kotes. ._.
