Mission: Wading Beasts (Bastok)

Hi all!

Can someone pls tell me in which grid at Dangruf Wadi I can find Steam Lizard for this mission? I have been travelling through Dangruf Wadi and all I could find were Rock Lizards. Also, what lvl woulb be best to start this mission? I found out that as soon as I cross a geyser, the monsters attack you if you come close...

Thanks for all your replies!

This doesn't exactly answer your question but I bought my lizard eggs for that mission rather cheaply off the auction house.

If I remember correctly, they're all north of row 5, the three northernmost chambers. G4/H4/G5/H5, H3/I3/H4/I4, and J3/J4. If you're only past the first geysers, you're not far enough, and if you're getting aggro there, you probably won't be able to kill them (they're level 16-20).

I can't even get past 3 of those goblin butchers of whatever they are called...I'm at lvl 15. Thanks for your reply!

Yeah, I read that that was possible too, but since I need to level up considerably before I can do the Emissary Mission, I thought I might as well fight for the eggs...

Re: Mission: Wading Beasts (Bastok)

Ok well Draken at level 15 solo it is quiet frankly hard as hell to do this. I did this solo at 30 as war/mnk with decent gear on my way to siren's tear and I almost got wiped by links. The lizards them selves are a hard to pull because they spawn near lvl 21-23 goblins these would be muggers(thf), gamblers (blm), and leechr (whm). Plus unless your thf the drop rate sucks balls. Leveling hear is not recommended go grab a party in dunes or solo on Kon highlands. Go grab your subjob and hit 20 and then move on to qufim and grab your choco lincense while you are there and come back to this, because the dragon fight is capped at 25 so its safer if are 25+ when you roll in with the party, you want to do it this way. But if you would still like to try now...

Vana'diel Atlas: Map of

They spawn in the upper region H - 3 and H - 4 as well as J - 3 and J - 4. If you not playing in window mode you can go get the in game map rather easy. Get a bone chip from any skeleton, if you run around in S Gustaberg near the entrance of north gustaberg around 22:00 - 1:30 in game time. No one claims them usually so if you see one most likely its your. Then take said bone chip go back to bastok market and go down to the bridge that leads bastok mines and there will be a dancing old man before you sone, well its actually a battle stance since it is the same character model as maat but at your level you might not know who that is. Trade him the bone chip you get the wadi map. Easy pezy quick and easy and you won't get lost as easily anymore. Good luck, and that treasure chest is a pain in the arse to find with out that map if you ever go hunting for it.

Stay gold

Re: Mission: Wading Beasts (Bastok)

Thanks for your reply Sekighara!

I didn't know it was going to be that difficult. It seems I have to lvl up quite a lot. But what do I do in between? I mean, if I want to level up, I have to get quite a way away from Bastok and I only have 2 chocobo passes that will get me halfway to Konschat Highlands. I could do more quests I suppose. (thinking on the fly here, )

Well, thanks again! I know now what to do

Re: Mission: Wading Beasts (Bastok)

Just check the AH ... lizard eggs should be under food/ingredients. Also, don't worry about having to get a stack, this is a repeatable mission and you'll use them eventually for rank points (instead of trading stacks of crystals).

Re: Mission: Wading Beasts (Bastok)

If your looking at levelling up at 15, then go to highlands and get to the crag where theirs a fields of valour book (where you pick you chocobo from, Northern point of crag)

On the way you can kill saplings and lizzards in the passes from teh north gusteberg zoneline and get 75 exp-100 exp with empress band though in a few rock eaters and a ouple of gobs on the way. Head to the main aprt of highlands and kill wasps and lizards and saplings, check the sheep around and add them to the list if you feel comfortable fighting them. doing the fields of valour quests gives you an exp boost of a couple of hundred xp once you conquered the targets given and can do a quest once every vanadiel day. if you have your party flag up you could get an invite to a dunes party on teh beaches.

sell all your crystals, lizard tails, trean bulbs, grain seeds, goblin armour pieces, behive chips, sheepskin, sheep tooth, zinc ores (synth copper ores to copper ingots using 1 fire crystal and 4 copper ores) with all that you can make a good amoutn of gil to be able to afford silent oils and prism poders needed to assist in gettign to jeuno. (about 7k a stack on Kujuta)

At 15, people who party most often do so in the Dunes. I prefer to solo a job to at least 20 to try and avoid partying there altogether. With fields of valor and the exp boost to easy prey and decent challenge, plus moar exp rings, 1-20 on many jobs has become much, much faster and easier.

And at some point, find your Supply Mission NPC and start doing those as often as you can. Having outpost warps makes getting around the world all the more easier.
