BST and 2-3 / fomor farming

Hey!

so im in the aquadects trying to charm a IT slime to farm fomors and maybe pwn the minotaur. but i can't seem to land the charm. Ive got +20 CHR with gear and food. any suggestions? should i go on lights day, would it matter?

When you're about to charm the IT slime, make sure you're at maximum distance, and then hit charm.

Chances are it will not land, so start running and make sure you are running on the water/away from slime. A few steps and the charm should de-aggro due to how those mobs track by scent, and running through water is equal to you losing your scent if lucky.

Best to make a macro where you swap all your CHR equip in, so your character "blinks" as you charm. This will allow you to get a little headstart when running.

Charming those slimes is all about luck really. Lightsday will help, but only marginally. I do it whenever usually. Just keep trying, some people do it first time, others take a lot of tries.

then my next question would be where in the aquaduct would be a good spot to charm a slime. truesight mobs are around and i notice that when i use charm i lose sneak, therefore i will aggro fomors, fish, and the like...

Fish do not aggro.

Look at G-8. I charm there all the time. There's a slime in the hallway of G-8/H-8. Enough room to run and lose aggro once you've charmed. Make sure you're at maximum distance from it.

Takes a few practice to do it, but easy once you get it down. Then I head over to the West to fight Fomors.

First I would avoid trying to charm a IT slime. IF anything run down the hall and locate a VT slime. which will be a little easier to land charm on them then the IT. As for me when I did it I had 2 bad charm attempts out of 3 runs. But my Chr was around the same as yours is. I chalk it all up to just being lucky really.

As for farming formors. 1 charmed Vt slime at G-8 will kill 2 beastmaster formors and 2 ninja formors before the Familiar duration runs out. Thats if you can get past the stegs fast enough. So really look to be able to kill 2-3 before you need to leave and warp out.

::Little notes::

- Stegs are straight ahead true sight, If they are slightly angled you can past them on the other side.

- remember to bring zeta to cut down on downtime.

- D/E-11/12 you will find a Drg, Nin, Bst, Rng formor

- C/D- 9/10 you will find a Smn and Nin.

- Cast blink before you charm if it fails try to outrun it in the water to lose aggro if your running out of room use tame. Then wait til tame is up before another attempt.

- Do not try to charm a mischarm mob.
