What is the best party set up for doing promvy?

What is the best party set up for promvy mission - Mea and Holla !?

The party set up I previously have is as below:

DRG/WAR, BLU/NIN, RDM/BLM, PLD/WAR, SMN/WHM and RNG/NIN

However I have been told this party set up is going to be a death trap instate of a successful party! hmm... i haven't have the chance to try it yet!

Please advise....

I don't know why you would have been told that. You have a RNG and a SMN, and a BLU, all of which are hax for CoP. You should be fine. Just have some anima, and know what is expected of all of you, and you should be fine.

Personally, I'd prefer a WHM over that RDM, but it's not a deal breaker. The Promies aren't that hard. You'll be fine.^^

The best setup is always the one where everyone has all 3 animas, and uses them in an organized manner. It's possible to win without anima, but they help so much it's dumb not to use them.

Promy is usually best dual-tanked or even triple-tanked; I'd probably drop the DRG for a WAR/NIN -- or another PLD/WAR, failing that. NIN proper is typically too squishy once shadows are down, and both tanks should be able to take hits long enough for the other to voke off of 'em.

BLU is handy due to its ability to stun early, frequently, and cheaply; good pick.

RDM's primary problem in a Promy is that they don't get Raise until 38. A WHM is thus preferable for this purpose. You can make up for this if you have lots of Reraise to go around, though. Expensive, but workable.

PLD, while not preferred for Promy tanking, should be able to make do.

SMN is another good pick. An Astral Flow Pact will knock off an eighth of the boss's HP just by itself -- and a SMN can do it three times with a single use of Astral Flow, if they're paying attention and concentrate on getting MP back in between. They should start the routine about when the boss is at 50%.

Finally, RNG will benefit you in two ways. One, it'll help you track down Memory Receptacles much easier; two, they can use Spartan Bullets, which are another frequent source of stun.

For Promys i like the following setup:

War/Nin x 3 Blu/nin Smn Whm

War/nin's are great for blink tank x 3 plus good dd. This was the setup our static used and we had no problem, we always had all the animas but rarely used them all. Typically we made it through us all using one or so... IMO the above is the best setup.

I always perfer to have 3+ SMNs. to make it simple. AF for 450+ DMG i believe times 3+ SMN's getting off all 3 flows is sickness. or farm ur animas and take 3/ person like Arm said

CoP is all about preparation and having a plan. You absolutely need to have the BC items ready on every member and make sure everyone knows what to do in the fight. Assuming that's done, then any balanced party should be able to win just fine.

Though if you absolutely have to be super-elitist leave nothing to chance, have fun trying to gather 4+ summoners >_>

To reiterate what everyone said, have your animas, and come prepared with the necessary consumables (cookies, reraise, food, poison pots, etc.). Make sure you are aware of which animas do what, and use them strategically.

My favorite setup is: Whm, Blu, SMNx3, War or Rng. If everyone uses their animas properly, and you make sure the players who need the mob still to 2 hour before people start throwing their terroanima, you should be just fine.

I think it has less to do with the jobs going along as opposed to the people playing the jobs going along. Pick up groups can be a little flaky when it comes to devising and executing a thought out strategy for some of those tougher fights. Not to suggest it's baaad to use a PUG, but my unlucky friend is now 0/8 on promy-holla now because of the retardedness that he put up with (People not wearing gear, eating food, or using the anima).

Most Job setups will work on a Promy, RDM is really the closest thing to a weak link that you have in that situation, as it doesn't have raise yet. Job Growth is a factor in CoPs, as the level caps will cut you off from various luxuries and varying level.s

Like others have said, its all about being prepared, knowing what you're up against and having the animas. If you're being fed the BLM or SMN army strategy by others, you're just being advised by weak players.

One extra thing: Reraise items are CRITICAL for some situations. Anyone that lays there in CoP BCNM fight and waits for a raise is wasting valuble time for the group to recover and forcing a loss on the group. All members should have thier own Reraise items prepared, along with Hi-potion/Hi-Ether tanks, Yagudo Drinks, BC items such as animas and food (though don't use food on Promy Holla boss, he absorbs the effects).

Anytime I lead a CoP mission, I beat it into everyone's head to have this stuff. These missions are long and no one likes having thier time wasted on unprepared players.

Spartan Bullets for stun? I've never tried that but I would assume it'd pretty much be too slow to be of any real use, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone... Then again I've been wrong before so I have to ask, what's the logic for trying that approach?

I guess I take for advantage being in a SMN LS. I have more than 6-8 people lvl 65+ willing to help out every single member in that LS 80% of the time everyday. I hope you can find a LS or a group of people that can help you accomplish your mission with little problems and awhole lot of fun.
