Okay, so I'm in Crawler's Nest [s], but I can't seem to progress.

I was told to come here same as my LS mate, and she got told by a taru to head to windy. Meanwhile, I haven't seen anyone to tell me to go San d'oria... so wtf?

A little anger management might be in order for you. Please lay off the impatience; if you're going to be one of the pioneering types that has to get everywhere first, expect that you're going to hit some speed bumps.

If you're expecting to get everything handed to you on a silver plate, wait a few days as everyone gets their copies of the expansion and I'm sure some helpful soul will spell everything out.

@_ @ my LS mate ran in, immediately saw an NPC and was told to run to Windy.

Myself and about 20 others have been in here for over an hour and seen nothing. Something is amiss here...

Ya there are lots of little irritants right now with stuff from the expansion. The maws are driving people crazy cause they go to the past, come back, and try to go back again and the maw they entered says Nothing happens. There are going to be lots of little, and big, things with the expansion that are going to take time to iron out. If you do figure it out, please post and let us know so other people aren't pulling their hair out! LOL Good luck!

i'm trying! my PT discovered something in Eldieme, but I just got booted from POL for some reason... right as Campaign was hitting Rolanberry...

I think you have to find the NPC in the area while it's not under attack >_>

EDIT: /hurray! My internet is being gay yet again... more complications = more fun...

Okay, you can only do this while a stronghold is NOT under attack!

Near the entrance to each will be a recruitment NPC. You can apply for any army, but it's best to go with your nation.

Bastok - Eldieme

Windurst - Crawler's Nest

San d'Oria - Garlaige Citadel

EDIT: Got my Sandy invite... but I can't cross over to the next zone... there's a god damn fence @ the end of Passhow... wtf do I do now???

EDIT: Okay I went through the Inlet and exited @ D-10, and I'm back in Jugner on the south side... am I in the right place, or do I go even further out west?

yet more EDIT: Okay, died twice now trying to find the stupid exit to East Ronfaure [s]... I at least found and activated the cavernous maw for Jugner - . -'

wait so when u say its under attack do u mean like a besiged sort of thing? i havent gotten to play the expansion yet so i dont know how the whole war thing works. do u get to go fight in the war and do they occasionaly attack? please explain

Yeah, if you zone in, and hear the Besieged like music, something's going on. I spent a few hours in the Necros trying to get that map quest completed and finally unlock Scholar. Walk in, music's playing and the NPCs were gone.

After digging deeper, I saw a Demon with a ton of little Dark Elementals roaming around. Out of nowhere they warp'd out, but the music kept playing.

In Rolanberry Fields, trying to zone into Sauromugue Champaign I was thinking, "the 'server' just came up. Shouldn't there be NMs everywhere?" I look around, and see a Quadav with a long name, and it's a NM. I figured everything else in the area was too weak or EP that didn't agro, so I should be fine as a RDM. I start kiting it, and noticing that it randomly resisted an elemental enfeeble and took about 75% on my nuke. Also noticed it's HP bar didn't move at all. lol Gravity wore off, it ran right up to me ..... and didn't even attack once. Huh? Rest of my party showed up, and we tear into it. It didn't attack us once, died, didn't give EXP or gil or an item and was gone. No clue what's up here yet.

I would expect the NM pickings to be extremely slim at this point. Like Aht Urhgan, SE will probably add worthwhile NMs in the next few updates.

And stupid question, what the hell does the [s] stand for anyhow?

I meant to post this last night but my Internet crapped out.

I made to San d'Oria finally (dear god what a nightmare that was) and I have to say it's awful pretty ^^b

The S refers to Shadowreign or Shadowrealm, not sure which (I read it somewhere... it implies that the SL is in control here, since he's the one that started this war)

For now, people have dubbed it "Shadow Realm" kind of a play on Dark World/Light World with the past and the present and you have to pass through a shadowy realm occupied by Atomos to get to the past

Since this is about missions, I was wondering if anyone knew what exactly kicks off mission 3?

I checked both FFXI wiki and BG wiki and they are both saying the same thing. And it is wrong.

I know because I am a member of the 4th Brigade (or whatever it is in Bastok) and I have NOT finished the second quest mentioned. That gnole claw is a pain in the ass to get.

I thought it might be getting all 9 Cavernous Maws, which I have done. But a friend I was working with did not have all 9, and he had not turned in his Gnole Claw yet, and he also got the CS and title for Mission 3.

Any ideas?

When the expansion went live, there appeared to be a bug that the recommendation NPCs would disappear when Campaign was going on. That has since been fixed. Now, when you zone into the perpetual Necros Campaign the Galka will still be standing there and give you your letter. This was NOT the case on Wednesday night when I was doing this.

Check the FFXI Wiki now, it has the updated information there.

You don't need all Maws (Which I just got last night.), but you do have to join an army and do two quests. They are 2 quests in a line, and once those are done, go to one of the Maws outside Jeuno in the present and use it. You get your next cut, and it puts you on #3.
