Climbing the mountain in Attohwa Chasm

Hey, I'm completely lost trying to climb the mountain in Attohwa Chasm, does anyone know just how to get up there?

Special pics for those with answers!

And cookies!

Re: Climbing the mountain in Attohwa Chasm

it's very tricky... there are spots where you have to fall down to continue. Also, some of the gas vents will subside for a few seconds (if you have to wait longer than 5-10 seconds, then it's permanent and you need to find an alternate route)

All in all it shouldn't take more than 3-5 minutes to reach the top once you figure it out. I haven't done it in some time so I'm sorry if this isn't much help ; ;

There is only one way up. There are guides for this too, but if you’re stubborn and want to do it yourself, here are some tips:

* you’ll go counter-clockwise (mountain on your left, sky on your right) for most of the trip.
* most of the gas vents go down. However, some do not. If you see a ledge beneath you that comes out of the cliff near where you would drop down to it, drop down to it.
* be careful going around some of the outside turns.

When you do go up, run forward and into the mountain at the same time, should help keep you from falling off (most places you're likely to fall put you back on the ground, and you get to start over. Yay!

Once you get better at it, try it with flee, its fun.

Re: Climbing the mountain in Attohwa Chasm

I've posted it before, but there's a trick to doing the "U-turn" on the lower part of the path (you'll know what I'm talking about when you get there - watch the vid above if unsure).

Using the keyboard (NOT controller), move forward and hold the button. The wall will automatically shift the camera angle and force you to follow the edge of the wall without falling off.

If you use the controller, chances are you'll screw up and fall down (and be in a horrible place to try and restart).

I don't know if this will help any more than what's already been posted, but this site has step by step directions and a video: http://ysac.reshasha.com/

Re: Climbing the mountain in Attohwa Chasm

Yeah, I was gonna suggest the You Suck at Climbing website, but looks like it's been covered. The U-turn very close to the ground is the worst part of the whole thing. I fell there about 7 times in a row trying to get up there for CoP. At least now I know the entire mountain by heart. My kids learned a lot of swear words that day. >.>;

Just take your time, don't try to rush it until you know it well and you're confident, and that low U-turn, I did do it with a controller but I was mashing myself into the wall so hard my character got marks on her entire left side from scraping against the rocks. If you don't do that, you're gonna fall, you'll throw the controller and you'll cuss. Take it from someone who knows.

Actually, there's nothing amazing about that, I suppose.

I've always found it easier to lock your character into walking instead of running. It does slow the climb up a little.

Cute! ^_^

... lol the game has trained my hands. I had to go back and correct myself because I reflexively typed "Cure!"
