How far could me an a friend get on the missions by ourslef, even once we get to lvl 75 would we be able to?

Which mission? The early nation missions can easily be done solo, up until the 2-3 dragon. If you messed around and didn't do any missions until 75, you could wipe out tons of them alone.

Well you could probably get past rank 3 fairly easy with two people I've duoed that one before. Rank 4 and 5 are easily duoed. 5-1 is 50 capped and 5-2 is uncapped (shadow lord) so it would depend on what jobs you are as to if you could duo those. I did the 5-1 with a party, but have read that it has been soloed and duoed before.

The Shadow Lord fight I've trioed with 75whm/blm (me), 75drk (had a Kraken Club though) and another lower level character that needed the fight. So I imagine it can get duoed. I've heard a rdm can solo that fight.

I'm only to rank7 right now, but I duoed those missions. I suppose it would depend on what nation you are from as well, as they start to differ more after rank 6. Usually if you check out ffxiclopedia they have suggested party setups and if it's been confirmed that it has been soloed or duoed before.

I don't know what Bastok missions are like, but a level 75 can solo up to rank 7 or 8 in Windurst or San d'Oria. I wouldn't say easily but it's possible depending on your job. After that you start getting into missions that require alliances or well-built parties of higher level players. So .. duo you and your friend should be able to get pretty far provided that you've 75 and picked jobs that complement eachother well.

I wouldn't wait til you're 75 to start doing missions though. People are going to start looking at you funny when you start getting up in levels and you're still rank 1. Really the question should be what level you and your friend should be before attempting the missions. If you're going duo all the way, I'd say try do it like this:

Level 10: 1-1, 1-2, 1-3
Level 25: 2-1, 2-2, 2-3
Level 40: 3-1, 3-2, 3-3
Level 50: 4-1, 5-1
Level 60: 5-2

Sandy you would probably get blocked at 6-1 - 1000 needle spammage.

And I regularly solo the Shadow Lord for people - I would think at 75, if you can solo an avatar, you can solo the SL.

It would all depend on the job you're leveling. Do you or your friend want to take red mage and ninja up? If not, it's very unlikely that you'll be able to duo them, let alone solo them.

So long as one of them is a healer (rdm, whm, blu, maybe even pld (yes, I realize I just said rdm)), it's not strictly necessary that the other person level a solo-oriented class like rdm, nin or drg/mage to duo most missions imo.

San d'Oria 6-1 would probably be an issue. Windurst 8-2 is also an issue (anyone who shows up without a full party in the House of Death in Davoi has a screw loose).

Realistically you can get to rank 6 quite easily as a duo if you're smart and organized with 2 characters at level 75. Getting past that rank is the hard part.

3-4 people are more than enough, all you need is to storm the place and sleep all the weak mobs, then deal with the NM.

We've taken over the Chateau twice, first with 4 and then with 3 people. We didn't have much problems except for an Orcish DRG that managed to aggro from outside on the 3 people attempt, but it wasn't a big deal. (Just note that in both cases we were all lvl 70+).


Too bad you can't open the door while stealth and/or jump inside crashing through the windows.

We took three people down into leech city to do Asuran Fists last night (72MNK/NIN, 75WAR/NIN, 70RDM/WHM) and got PWNed by respawning leeches in Bodach's room before we even got to see him. What was your setup for taking over the Chateau?

For Windurst 8-2 I think two blue mages spamming stuns and damage may be able to duo the NM, but clearing the house and the area around it of all the coffer mobs that would link and killing the NM before repops would be a major issue.

I haven't done Sandy 6-1 yet, but if the difficulty is similar to Sabotender Bailarina I think two bst/whms with healer NPCs could pull it off.

In each case I think a duo is technically possible but would take two skilled and well-prepared 75s of specific jobs to do.

4 people party it was RDM/NIN (me), BLM/WHM, MNK/WAR and WAR/NIN.

3 people party was with RDM/BLM (me), WAR/NIN and I think either BLM/WHM or WHM/BLM, I don't remember well.

He's talking about the church in the center of Davoi, not the oubliette under Chateau d'Oraguille. Those leeches shouldn't be that hard for a small group of 75s unless you ran into the NM. I remember there being 3 leeches in that room the last couple times I was there. Just sleep two of them and take them one at a time.

I've seen high level alliances wipe to links and -ga III spammage in Davoi. Blitzing it with 4 I guess I can believe, but you'd have to knock out the NM and get Escape off in a hurry.

3 people can get 6-1 done as long as they have NPCs level 50+ (so they last enough).

I've tried it with 2 people + 2 NPC but we got pwned because our NPCs didn't last long enough taking 250 dmg per 1000 needles.

Maybe with Chainstun and/or BLU it could be duo'd though.

Is it a church? I always assumed it was a cheateau.

And yep I was talking about Windy mission 8-1 in Davoi. But for fighting against many mobs at the same time the strategy is pretty much the same.

Also the advantage RDM has against mnk type of mobs like leech is that Phalanx + spikes simply pwns them.

If you go /WAR with defender and maybe tank food you can tank em for a really long time.

(Like that MNK NM for a Sandy mission or the Chigoe NM for Caedarva map, both easily soloable that way, although it takes a while thanks to RDM's uber crappy damage )

Sorry about the double posting.

Handling the links isn't hard at all, maybe it's because I got used to dealing with 5 hard mobs at a time in Dynamis, but those orcs never resist Sleep so it's easy to play with timers/rewrites and keep em all asleep while you kill the NM.

-gas do hurt a bit but it isn't that bad if you are only dealing with the NM alone. And if your WHM or /WHM is fast enough they can even cast bar spells before the high dmg spells go off.


Edit > Btw in both cases we stayed in the room after killing the NM and cleared the area, followed by the "We've taken over Davoi!" or "All hail Cykoish Overlord" (Cyko is my best friend in-game) shouts and Screenshots sitting at the chair/throne thing there.
