The expansion was released six months ago. Not only should it have been complete when they released it, but it really makes you wonder exactly what has the dev team been working on all this time? Ways to improve Beseiged, no doubt. /rolleyes
It is appalling that we had to pay for unfinished work back in April to still have it be unfinished 6 months later and be paying our 12.95/month to see what the finished product will be. Excellent business plan for SE though.
You didn't have to pay for it. Plenty of people didn't buy it immediately and there are some who still don't have it.

If you don't think it is worth the price for what you get out of it *now*, don't buy it now. Wait and see what later updates add to it and maybe get it then.

What? You want all the new features, areas and jobs that were included from release day? Well, maybe you should buy it then.

To get back to the missions... this is only the beginning. Am I the only one who noticed in one of the scenes with Luzaf, he is standing in front of a mural depicting...
Aht Urhgan Mission Spoilers

So there's a lot of dangerous stuff going on for players to get involved with.

I'm interested how a customer is to know this before purchasing ToAU?

Not sure what you're trying to say here. Can you explain please?

They don't. However they are assuming that the content will be good and that there will be plenty of things to do. The customer is assuming that it is worth the price.

However, what people forget is that not all of the expansion's content is available right off the bat, and so they start complaining that there is not enough content.

Also, be waiting a bit before buying, they can go to forums much like this one and read up about the expansion's content and people's reactions to it and then make an educated decision on whether or not to buy it.

What she's saying is, you want to be a blue mage, puppet master, or corsair? Then you have to buy the expansion. You want to exp in the new areas for the awesome easy exp there? Buy the expansion.

If you really wanted to be a corsair, and you wanted to play it NOW rather than waiting until more content was released, then buying the expansion just to play as a corsair would have made it worthwhile.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

Previews, game info websites, reviews, forum discussions, word of mouth (including in-game), maybe even watching over the shoulder of a RL friend who already has it.

If you don't want to buy it on release day based only on SE's marketing, then don't. In fact I didn't buy any expansions so far the first day they were released, or even the first month. Nobody is forcing you to buy TAU; not buying TAU will not even cause FFXI to stop working. There's still fifteen jobs you can play using only RoZ which all NA players got for free. Nobody is going to exclude you from parties because you can't sub PUP. (People who didn't get RoZ for free do have a legitimate beef with the overpoweredness of /NIN, imo, but since it's been included in base versions for several years, it's not much of an issue anymore because of simple demographics.)

Yes, you have a more restricted choice of quests, missions, other content (Assault, Besieged) and exp camps, but whether it is worth $30 for those things is a decision each player has to make on his/her own. It's really not that hard to get an exp party going somewhere besides the usual overcamped hellholes - most people are sick of them, but just don't know the alternatives.

I *do* have TAU now - and I don't regret it, although some of the exp/merit camps are tedious I really enjoy assault and besieged - but I didn't buy it automatically without thinking and I don't think I was pressured into buying it when I did.

Re: ToAU Missions {Too weak}
Interesting, I had forgotten that part. It does cast an interesting light on why Ghatsad is involved in some of the AUMs investigating Alzadaal ruins...

But I'm confused now, aren't some of the automatons that were abandoned in beastman areas (and picked up and used by the beastmen) supposed to have been there since the Ephramadian War? Just how old IS Ghatsad?

He's a Galka. They live LONG. You know those kiddy galka in Bastok Mines? They're in their twenties.

Galka longevity has also been cited as one of the main reasons for the prejudice against them in Bastok.

Those missions are not for higher level players. They could bring back level caps if you want.
