I am currently lvl 13 RDM, and thought I would try some missions - only been playing a week and half.
So I am on the bat hunt mission. WHilst I have already got the orchish mail scales I'm supposed to trade with the mission starter, I cant find this tombstone that I am supposed to select for a cut scene!
I am running around that zone killing the fiends with ease - except when I go down this one tunnel, the mobs in there are TOUGH. Wind Bats, Stone Eaters and Gobs, all aggro mobs as well. Keep dying in there.
Thing that confuses me is that on somepage, it says doable at lvl 5 and easy at lvl 10. Am I just going down a tunnel thats designed for higher lvl players, and nor related to this mission or am I missing some important point?!
I see others make the same mistake I did as I saw at least 4 other dead players in there before I was killed!
Any1 know where I can get the map for King R's Tomb? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-04-2006, 02:19 AM | #2 (permalink) | | Hates you all. Except for you. This mission is definitely solable at the point you're at, but you just have to be smart about aggro. Goblins aggro to sight, so if you want to avoid them, run behind. Or just take them on one by one. Those worms in the tunnels are sound aggro, but they can't chase you, so just run on by if they attack you. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-04-2006, 02:28 AM | #3 (permalink) | | FFXIWiki'er FFXIWiki Team Join Date: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,572 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 102 Thanked 39x in 30 Posts Gil: 17,242 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 17,242 Donate | Re: Bat Hunt Guess I was just unlucky, I ran past the worms but there were loads of gobs in there, and as soon as you get seen by one, thats it, game over since I cant outrun them! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-04-2006, 02:36 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Hates you all. I may just get a ls member to help me out on that bit, heal me whilst I hack away, etc.

You should never encounter Wind Bats on your way to the tombstone. Take a look at this map. They have your tombstone pointed out on the first map. It's in the middle of a mini-maze. The map also shows how to get through that mini-maze.
Be careful when going to the tombstone at night, as lots of Enchanted Bones like to hang out there. Hopefully the Spook campers will have slaughtered them, though. Haggai

you'll know the tombstone when you see it. there's typically 3-4 people standing around waiting for Spook to pop. he's a ghost that pops between 20:00-04:00. At your level you probably couldn't beat him so I would avoid him for now.
