Re: Assault

I'd say the Idol one at the Ilrusi Atoll is the easiest. Just pop chests looking for the real one. If it's fake you just fight a mimic, they're not very hard.

Re: Assault

Do you need a party? Also do you have to get access to that staging point?

How difficult would you guys say this would be with a 73 BRD and NIN duo?

There's only one way to find out

But from what I hear Brd and Nin are pretty good at duoing many different things, but here the only concern would be the time limit, and the three member minimum. ; ;

You can get lucky and pop the right chest pretty quickly, or it might take a while. For a Ninja there might be problems because the mimics are prone to casting a potent Poisonga effectively canceling shadows, as well as high HP and pretty quick attacks. They weren't hitting my 68 Paladin very hard though.

Re: Assault

Golden Savage (Illrusi Atoll staging point) must be done with 3 people as a minimum (I think they all are that way) and can have a 50, 60, 70, and no level cap.

The chests are placed a little bit randomly, but it's more of 20 chest locations and only 15 chests. So you only need to spend a couple of times looking for a chest before you know where they will all be.

The mimics have draw in, which will bring back anyone with hate, and they also have a move called Death Trap, which is an AoE attack with a large radius, that has stun and poison effects. The poison is a strong one, 10hp/tick at least I think.

Best way to do this would be to come as /smn, call out carby and check the chest, carby will attack it if it's a mimic and you can hopefully run out of range for Draw In before he dies, if not you are stuck fighting the chest, but they are not that bad at the level 60 cap.

If you are having troubles with your health, consider bringing along a dragoon/red mage. As long as I don't attack the mimic, or cure my party member's directly, I will never get hate and I can avoid draw in which is very helpful. Just have the drg/rdm use the Bar-spells and their wyvern will use healing breath on whoever has 33%hp (50%hp with AF helm)

I would recommend the /smn approach, because sometimes it is easy to find the chest, but if you have to go down by the pugils (which are true sound mobs) things get hairy and you may not have time to finish. Save the pugil areas for last.

That's about it! Good luck! With any luck my assault static should be able to try some of the other assaults soon, and if I find an easier one I'll let you know.

Well, the rock one is pretty easy but we haven't won that yet, need more people and possibly a tank since I can't solo those darn rats.

Chatlog from the doomed failure:

Me: We're running low on time, the rats are only Tough, I think I can take them and we can always hope for a bomb to drop

Party: Ok, good luck!

15 seconds later:

Me: Oh %!! They have triple attack and attack almost as fast as Chigoe! Halp!

Party: >.> no one except you brought a healing sub

Me: (fun)
