I've only just realised this, but Is it true that you can use crystals to cover missions instead of actually going through them and doing them?

I'm rank 2 in Sandy, and I've reached the mission - "Journey Abroad"
For quite some time now, I have not been able to get anyone to help me with this mission...... not one bit. /sigh

I know that you have to go into Palborough Mines in North Gustaberg and find an area where you have to collect something, and I think you use a Mine Gravel, but I'm not sure. (please feel free to correct me)

I'm also aware that a BCNM fight is included in this mission, (somewhere in Giddeus) but the big problem is that I can just NEVER seem to get any help in finding this area in Palborough Mines, nor being able to gather any players for the BCNM fihgt. /big sigh! (I've never seen a dragon in FFXl before, and would have loved to have seen one for the BCNM fihgt! /sigh!)

So if it is possible to use crystals instead, (giving them to the gate guard for Sandy) then :
A) How many crystals are needed to cover the mission?

B) Do you have to use specific crystals, or can you use any type?

You can't skip this mission so crystals won't work. What server are you on? I might help.

A few quick pointers. You cannot skip this mission. I do thik you can skip the next Sandy mission by using crystals. It whatever one you need to get a crystal bass for. Since this bcnm is level capped you are going to have a harder time finding people to help. This will aslo hold true for mission 5-1. Maybe do a search for all rank 2 people from Bastok or Sandy that need the fight in Giddeus. BTW the dragon in the fight looks like Nicole Richie. Its all skin and bones.

You can only use Crystals to bypass the ?-2 Rank Missions, like 1-2 or 2-2. All other Rank Missions cannot be bypassed.

That's not true. The Crystal Bass is 2-1 and can be skipped. And also, as far as I know, you can't skip any mission after rank 5.

For starters, Im on the Fenrir server. I'll bet there's a high chance you're from another server, knowing my luck. (it would be nice if you could help me out here, if you were though)

Question - what do you mean by "crystal bass?"
Does it mean the starting mission in each of the main cities?

I've just had a look, and noticed that "Journey Abroad" is Mission 2-3.
You said that you can't skip any missions after Rank 5.
I don't really know which Rank you are given after this one, (Journey abroad 2-3) but if it isn't Rank 5, then are you sure that I still can't skip it by using crstals instead?


Edit : I've never seen any players post to the forums at this site who play on Fenrir.

I've never heard of Nicole Richie. Is she an american actress?

She used to be good friends with Paris Hilton and if you know who she is then you can deduce the quallity person Nicole is. What I meant was that the dragon doesn't look like you would think a dragon would look like.

I give up! It DEFINITELY does NOT SAY in that link whether you can skip misssions or not! (have you given me the correct link?)
It just gives you tables on the names of the misions for each city, and links on walkthru's for them! BAH!

um, that means you can't skip it... whereas something like The Crystal Spring mission...

"The Crystal Bass" was a mess up on my part, "The Crystal Spring" is the name of mission 3-2 which is skippable.

For the most part, you can't skip any mission. I know for a fact you can't skip "Journey Abroad".

After 2-3 you go to Rank 3. It follows 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

The term 2-3 refures to the rank level (2) and the mission number in that rank (3).

Yes, I have heard of Paris Hilton, though I don't consider to be a fan of hers or anything. So I don't really know much about her either.

Okay, this dragon for the BCNM fight. I don't suppose you could give me a brief description of what it maight look like, could you? (or maybe any pics anywhere if possible. It doesn't have to be, but it was only a thought)

Btw, don't go trying to solo this mission. While I have heard of it being soloed in the past you're WHM will be eaten alive.

Find a decent group of 6 people, a tank or two a few damage dealers and you should be fine. Do you have a nice linkshell that might help you?
