After finally getting 25 victory points, I headed up to Naja to get promoted to a PFC. Upon entering, instead of giving me PFC she gave me Aht Urgan mission 9 - the Azhblahblah ruins one.

Is it possible to beat this mission solo as a 65 BLM, or are there monster fights involved? And when will I get a "break" so I can get PFC?

Reading on from that it looks like you don't have to kill anything until mission 12.

You don't need PFC for this by the way, I'm only a PSC and I started the missions.

You wont be able to solo these missions. There are a few cutscenes at first but later you need to kill the moloboros for a an item, kill and nm fomor, then do a BCNM fight, full of corsair mobs.

SPOILERS - KINDA

Don't read if you don't want to know some of the details.






Four of us got all the way up to the Assault type mission on the "pirate ship" (don't want to give away to many spoilers). We ended up dying because we didn't know there was a second wave. Did find out there is a nice "kiting route" on the ship and next time, I'm letting the thief kite. Those bullets hurt my delicate whm skin!

On the positive, we're going back tonight with two more people and some fore-warning of what's to come. Our tank, a 72 SAM, was actually doing pretty good against them. They hit fast, but not really hard. There was just a few to many (7 if memory serves), but kiting 1/2 of them really, really helped. (Then we got hit with the 2nd wave and we went "WTH?" "Another?" "ZOMG" "Death")

I love these missions. SE really outdid themselves on this one. The underwater ruins are gorgeous and I highly recommend everyone visiting them. Wish I could have that as a mog house, I would never leave. Then the trip out to the pirate ship was just awesome. We were all laughing because it reminded us of the Black Pearl and, dang, if it didn't feel like the movie.

P.S. For those that have to fight the marboro... watch out for Vampyric Root. That move almost killed the RDM tank and me because it took his Phalanx II.

The story is just amazing so far. And fair warning to those who aren't on mission 17 yet; To get inside the Palace (naja helps you find some "appropriate attire") you have to equip a full set of one of the new assault sets, like Yigit for example.

Lame I know, since each piece is like 20 000 points...

i went into the palace with some errant stuff and my RDM hat no weapons though. boat fight was fun. 5 mobs then 4 more, and the cap'n.

That's not exactly correct. I went in wearing a Vermy + Af Boots + Af Legs + Af Gloves & no weapon and she said I looked fine first try without any hesitation.

Sounds almost like the Brigit the Stylist quests. Perhaps you only need armor or AF sets?

I got into the palace with 4/5 Barone, and Wyvern Helm on my first try. No problems. The THF, and BRD in my party also got it rather easy. I don't recall what they were wearing.
But the other 3 couldn't. I logged about an hour after I finished, and they still hadn't figured out how to get in.
It says that no weapons are allowed. So you might try removing anything in the top row of the equip menu. Main, sub/shield, bows, and ammo.

i'm on mission 15 now, just waiting on a party for the BC.

you'll need duvca isle staging point or for a nice little shortcut (should al zahbi doesn't have the astral candy):

all members in party need 1 imperial silver piece
head to nashmau
head to the west enterance of the mire
go due west you will find a npc
trade the piece to gain entry
go straight and through a teleporter, then go straight til you zone again
when you zone, you'll be on dvucca isle at I-10. after that talk to the npc to get out, then head to the reef zone along f9/g9 area. stick to the walls if possible, imps like to stay in the middle parts of the path.

when you zone in, be prepared to fight, lamie in there got true sight. the location is h-8

only one person touches the cutter, which teleports entire party to the BC

if you lose the bc or want to help others, you will have to get that key item again.

as for AM15, the fight is incredibly easy. i got hit with berserk up for 41 damage O.o sleepga2+ES works well. also, when the captain pops, everyone just bumrush him, he gives up at 20% and you win. some advice is to fight the one gessho does, so you dont have multiple ones :x
