Sandy mission for rank 4, question - Final Fantasy XI :: Dreams in Vana'diel :: Community

I need to complete this mission by going into the tower and killing the NM on the tenth floor. My question is what is a good level to be to solo this mission? I an a 45 taru black mage with leveled sub of white mage. Any help with some answers would be great, thanks.

I'm not sure, but I do know that you're almost at the point where you could solo this. I used to farm up there as a 50ish PLD, and he was no problem for me. If you can find a friend, or even ask one of the folks upstairs to help you with the fight, it'll be over pretty quickly.^^

At level 45 you are NOT high enough level to solo Porphyrion. Actually you most likely won't even make it past Mimas, who guards the front door.

Bring at least one high level (60+) friend to solve this problem.

NOTE: Even though he and Mimas are both level 36, Mimas will toast you with Hundred Fists, and Porphyrion can one-shot you still at level 45 with his Eagle Eye Shot.

EDIT: Note 2 - if Mimas is up, you cannot open the door without attracting his attention. He detects by sight, and you have to be visible to open the door.

Provided Mimas is alive. He never used to be back when I would farm in Delk's. But then again, times have changed.

If my RDM friend and I could do it at 50, I see little reason to insist on a 60+ member. Unless you want to just let them do all the work, I guess.

Congratulations! I got Rank 4 (again) last night myself. I went up solo, and an LS member took the time to kill Porphyrion for me. Mimas, as I said earlier, wasn't there, of course. In fact, there weren't any mobs on the level - we even had to wait for Porphyrion. He didn't use EES.

Now you get the fun of Rank 5! Which you can pretty much solo as well. Just need some help with the two NMs in Beadeaux. That's what I'm doing today (not the Beadeaux part - that's been done for a while).
