I recently transferred over to midgard, and I was just wondering if any of the players on the server had any advice about which shells are legit and worth joining, and which are known for a bad reputation. I'm really just looking for casual endgame, so nothing too strict. thanks in advance.

What kind of endgame shell are you looking into joining? Sea? Sky? HNM's?

any really, I'm more or less looking for some options for events, and I just don't want to end up getting into a shell with a bad reputation, since I don't really know which shells are known for being less than decent.

Don't join an HNMls if you're looking into a casual shell. A casual shell would be more on the lines of Sky/Sea(if you have the access). You can probably find a good shell that goes 2 times a week.

Sorry can't help you with any casual shells. There are plenty of shouts in Whitegate/Jeuno for newer shells and its a good way to get started. Casual shells really can't have bad reputations since they aren't really into doing that much so you are pretty safe joining any casual shell. Its more dicey once you start thinking of joining shells that hardcore farm/camp. Then thats when the drama starts. So feel free to talk to other people and ask them some questions the ls's they are in.

Do you camp HNM's/Kings? (obviously if they do, you aren't interested.)

How many days do you have events? (of course, if they say 6 days a week, its not for you.)

Do you do <insert endgame stuff here like: sky, sea, limbus, salvage, nyzul, etc>? (the more stuff they do the more active they are, the more active they are the less casual they are.)

Do you guys have a website? (if they sound like they might be a good fit, it would be great if they had a website or at least a forum but not all ls's do but it doesn't hurt to ask!)

thanks for all the replies, I probably should have specified I'm not entirely new to endgame, the drama isn't new, and that's sort of why I want a less strict shell. It does make sense that the drama and a lot of the botting/illegal activites would happen with the more hardcore endgame, but I figure that with a good reputation that I had on shiva I don't want to come to midgard and end up getting in a shell that would give me a bad rep.

The Dynamis shell I'm in is enjoyable and, as far as attitude goes, it's pretty laid back. It's Dynamis, so it's nothing too hardcore.
