What happens if we dont have the astral candi~ for a long time?

If you want Besieged, you have to have the Candescence. To get the Candescence you have to convince enough skilled level 75 players to go after it and win it back.

I personally find Besieged dreadfully boring and annoying. It's like Dynamis but without the relics as a bonus - tons of lag, ridiculously overpowered enemies. And for what? A pittance in XP and Imperial Standing, assuming you don't disconnect? Not worth it.

Well you lose bonus effects from Sanction as well.

Different people, different views on that. I like besieges so what if it isn't a lot of EXP, not my intended goal when I go there anyways. Just something to do if I'm feeling lost or not intrested in a goal at the moment. Nice for those slumps, get to goof around and possibly kill something and if you die no worries and no exp loss.

well that was a given (along with the other normal stuff you loose) but since he asked what will happen if it's gone for a long time, my answer is still nothing

True but on a level 62+ job you could take that same amount of time and go XP, earn more experience and more imperial standing, and not have to deal with all the lag.

And if you're below level 62... what are you doing in Besieged? If anything, Square-Enix needs to put a level limit of 70+ on Besieged just so you don't have idiots showing up on their level 20 jobs that they can't be bothered to XP, and just subbing /WHM or whatever so they can toss in the odd cure or two to add points.

I go as 69Pld/Whm, and leave the tanking to the Ninjas.

Beseiged is nice for the people who don't have a lot of time to commit to parties. They can check the region info, see that the trolls are advancing, and they can run out and pick up some quick EXP and IS. Of course you'll get way less than if you had a party, but parties tend to last for hours while Beseiged definately not so long.

I don't think a level 5 attack that I've participated in has ever lasted less than an half an hour - are you seriously saying you can't make 700 XP in 30 minutes? Granted, you get some Imperial Standing too, but that's really not hard to get.

Main point is, though, the people who can really contribute to Besieged actually don't need it in any way shape or form, and the people who most want to participate are the ones who don't contribute as much. The whole system is totally backwards.
