Re: Golden Salvage Assault, Do you need it?

I eventually did spend several hundred seals doing Treasures and Tribulations. A few points:

1.) You can't use Widescan in the BCNM because the area has no map. Rumor dispelled.

2.) If you move the camera around to kind of see into the middle of the chests trying to find the real one, you'll be disappointed. They are all mimics until you choose one.

Basically when you walk in, there are just three different mimics. Change .dats all you want, they are still going to show up as three different boxes. When you make a choice, either you are attacked by a mimic, or all three chests disappear, and the one you chose is replaced with a treasure coffer, which then opens and gives you treasure.

I did several runs (I wasn't going to be using Ael anymore, so it was worth a shot). I got 1 Astral, 1 Fencer's Ring, 1 Sorcerer's Ring, 1 scroll of Regen III, 2 gold ore, and assorted deaths to a Mimic. I wasn't able to find much rhyme or reason to it. I did find, however, that just choosing the same chest over and over again doesn't really do much of anything.
