Hi, I'm in the market for buying a Hakutaku Eye Cluster. My character's name is Rasengan and I've been having trouble finding people with Hakutaku Eye Clusters (other than people that put it up for 99,999,999gil to show it off... orz ).

There isn't really much of a set price for these, but I've been told to not buy it for over 450,000gil. I'm offering 500,000gil. If anyone wants to sell or knows someone who wants to sell theirs off quick for 500,000gil, send me a /t and I'll buy it on the spot.

Most people collect the eyes for their own hat, mostly they have it on bazzar because they can. Usually i've known people willing to sell the cluster for a million, and i think its a fair price; not only does it take hours to collect the eyes, but no one farms them. You might be able to find the odd eye here and there, the one in SSG is the easiest to get and usually sells for 50-60k, even 100k is fair. If you think its too expensive think about it, +10Acc = 2 snipers, which sell for 500k on the server, add that +10 evasion; a hairpin is selling for what 600-700k now? Add them all together and you get one of the best pieces of armor in the game for all classes. Cheapest way to obtain an opical hat is to farm the eyes yourself, grab acouple of people, one with paralyna; make it a skill up pt or something and have fun.

my ls has done countless eye runs but now almost everyone that wanted em has em

You gonna have a hard time buyin em all it just isnt viable to farm em time vs gil for it, anyone that has em wants em (mind you there will be a few exceptions)

I guess 500,000gil is too low, it seems... but 1,000,000gil seems a bit too high to me.

How about this? I raise my offer from 500,000gil to 700,000gil? Any takers? :angel:

Hakutaku cluster is worth 1-2million gil. As holt said it is a combonation of items and the best head piece for a melee. It's worth is not equal to a peacock charm because it is not a 24 hour, botted, and heavily camped mob. It is worth 1-2 million gil because the drops are rare, several of the eyes require at least 2 people (1 status healer), and it requires at least a lv84 alchemist to craft.

Ive crafted well over 60 Hakutaku clusters and failed only 3. All three of those failures were critical, meaning the loss of every eye (felt so bad on one i gave that person all the eyes i had for my own hat).

Taking into account the level of effort necessary to gather the eyes, the skill of the craft to make the cluster, and the work involved if someone has a first cluster crafted and it busts, the cluster is worth 1-2 million gil minimum. G/L finding one for 700k.

Farming for it isnt hard at all.

Basically if you know people that can help you kill the actual Hakutaku NM for the hat itself, you can get people to help you get eyes.

I think the eye the most get trouble from is Damp eye from Ifrits Cauldron. Just because the drop rate on the dodomeki is low.

I bought 4/5 eyes back when they were like 20-30k each XD.

seems like it would be a lot easier to farm them for a week then save up 1 to 2 million gil for a month. (unless you make money faster than me. Which isn't hard to do actually... <.<)

70DRG/35RDM or 35 WHM can solo all the eye droppers except for the ones in Den of Rancor. Least thats what I did. Manage to buy my Wooden Hktk. Eye for 20k in a bazaar once and farmed the rest. It's easy once you get the hang of it. Might say something about needing someone for Paralyna, pfft. Each fight you'll get 100% when they're ~75% HP just wait till it does that Paralyze WS (it'll do that or Death Ray which is just damage) of theirs then counter with Penta Thrust, your wyvern will cure paralysis. Need a stunner? Pfft screw it. If it's casting Burst or something just use the appropriate Bar- spell, I never took more than 80 dmg this way if they went off. So yeah w/e give it a shot. Look on the bright side... You'll get like 30-60 EXP a kill. Haha.

Difficulty level (area + mobs):

SSG (Mtl. Coin door) - You probably wont even break a sweat. Nothing agros. Just run around and own up those 5 Bubblery Eye pops. You can also pop some coffers in the process for some gilage!

King Ranperre's Tomb - Easy camp, just need to deal with an EP Dire Bat that spawns in the tunnel before the Thousand Eye room every 12-16 minutes.

SSG (Sahagin key door) - Tricky... Since everything agroes back there and not really a safe spot to camp alone. What I did was just Dia the one at the ledge after killing the eyes behind Mtl. Coin door.

Ifrit's Cauldron - Hella fun camp! You gotta kill Dodomekis near bombs before they agroed ya... Was probably too much work. Fuck it just buy this one.

Den of Rancor - Um yeah you're not soloing this. Go buy it.
