About the "Martial Arts" Monk ability

i'm thinking of doing a THF/MNK. Just i'd like to know if the martial arts ability only affects grapples or would it affect daggers as well? cause i've read some posts that say it does and some that say it doesnt, i just wanted to get this cleared up:confused:

only grapple.
once you start using dagger you might want to switch to /war or /ninja.
