View Full Version : Does subbing Tamer put the dragon into heal mode?

...and how viable would the sub be in general? If Tamer puts the dragon into caster mode, then it would seem the most stat-friendly way to get there. Those stats and two pets can't be too bad. I'm really only looking for "not too bad", as it would be something different.

Is Beast Tamer caster or melee? Forget the rest I was in a bad place

It's a melee class.

I don't know what it would to do your wyvern... maybe give it taming powers. :p

Thanks vissione. Does the dragon's healing draw agro? If so you'd need taunt more than ever. Drg-War's won't heal but it'll be alive.

Everything draws hate... however, I read that your wyvern heals you after the battle ends, and focuses on attacking while mid-battle.

I don't know this for sure, but I was under that impression. Your wyvern is going to attack anyway, so drawing hate with healing isn't going to change the fact that it's exposed to damage and possible death.

I know an importer once said you can only have one pet at a time. So yeah if your dragon dies it would be nice to control another pet until you can summon the pet back. However, don't plan on having two pets attacking at once (at least according to the importer-it's somewhere in either the BST or SUM sections). So since you can only have one pet, it seems like a bad job combo to me.

Also, even if the importer was wrong (I don't think he/she was though), it would still be bad because you would be (for example)a 40 DRG/20 BST and could only control lvl 20 monsters vs. lvl 40 enemies. The higher the lvl, the more the lvl disparity...they would die instantly. If you were a BST/DRG you can't even summon your dragon, you have to have DRG main for that. I don't think either job is a very good sub job.

Last, stats are nice but every single person who plays the game says stats are not even remotely as important as actual job abilities. They always say you should ALWAYS pick a sub job based on the abilities not the minor stat boosts.

Hope this helps ya out

That really changes things. I did'nt even know about the BST lvl affecting monster lvl. Imagine if I'd learned through experience. Thanks alot dude.:handsdown
