Auto Refresh?

One of the Summoner's passive abilites is Auto Refresh. FFXIOnline.com says it automatically re-generates Magic Points, but don't you already re-generate Magic Points while sitting. :sweat:

And MP is the abbreviation of Magic Point(s), right? :sweat:

Simple, you regenerate MP while standing or moving around. You would gain like 1MP per 3 seconds, or around that. Just like whitemage's auto regenerate.

And does the SUM MP-regen stack with WHM or BLM MP-regen?

In other words if everything else is the same, would a lvl 50 SUM/WHM (having both SUM and WHM MP-regen skills) gain MP faster than a lvl 50 SUM/RDM (only having the SUM MP-regen skill)? Or do they not stack? Thanks.

I might have to be a SUM/WHM instead of SUM/RDM if they stack... until I can use RDM convert of course :thumbsup:

Whitemage doesn't have MP regen, its HP regen that whitemage has.

You're probably thinking of the WHM/BLM passive ability "Clear Mind", which comes at lv20 for WHM and 15 for BLM. SMN's passive ability "Auto Refresh" at lv25 will automatically regenerate MP no matter what you are doing, about 1 MP every 3 seconds. The ability Clear Mind will allow you to recover MP starting at greater intervals. I believe with a level 1 or higher WHM or BLM, you start off recovering 12 MP and 10 HP, which is higher than the typical 10HP&MP for other jobs.

Clear Mind will allow you to start recovering 15 MP (and 10 HP still) at the start of your first rest interval. As a level 30WHM/15BLM, I should theoretically have 2 Clear Mind abilities. However, they do not add any more MP than with 1 Clear Mind.

So technically, Clear Mind "stacks", seeing how the ability recovers 15 MP with both WHM and BLM. But you will not gain any extra effect (16+MP) if you have both jobs at the proper level to have Clear Mind. :thumbsup:

Well thx for the info everyone. I knew that ballard and refresh spells stack with the MP regen but I wasn't sure if the BLM/WHM skills would work. I just didn't understand about the "Clear Mind" ability, I thought it worked like SUM's MP regen but I guess it's a little different. Thanks, Gak for clearing that up for me. And it looks like "Clear Mind" would stack with MP regen since they are somewhat different abilities. But I guess "Clear Mind" isn't as great as I thought it was. Thanks.

I'm planning on being a red mage/summoner.When my summoner gets mp auto regain, and I'm resting, will the regain with mp stack?
