Error message - but worked fine yesterday!

Hello everyone,

since today I get this error message (see attachment) whenever I try to play FFXI.
Strangely, it worked fine up til now - I've actually played with my character, so I don't think it has to do with my content ID.

Anyway, could anyone please tell me what I can do to resolve this?

It says the game is not installed. Did you install disk 2, 3, and 4? Were you playing FFXI before?

If you were playing before and it WAS working fine, then go to here and go run a File Check on FFXI, if there are corrupted files, reinstall: http://www.ffxionline.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=48

Very weird, I've been playing the game for some time now and now it's not installed!?
Anyway I'll try doing a reinstall tomorrow, perhaps that will help!

Does that mean I'll have to do the 4-hour update again though?

Worst. If you have the expansion, you need to install the game first, patch, then install the expansion, and patch again.

I recommend you do a file check to make sure it is not bad before trying to do an install.
