Ok im new to this site so i dont know if its been asked before...it probally has but ok......Will there be any graphical differences or any differences in options ect...between pc and ps2 version of ffxi...because i can support both but i dont know which 1 to get
also will 1 be easier to play and do things in than the other

the set of screenshots on the Japanese FFXI website illustrates the difference in quality between PC and PS2 versions, the quality of the graphics will also be dependent on how fast your computer is, but it is generally noticably better than PS2

even if you have a computer that barely meets the minimum system requirements of FFXI, it is likely to be at least equal to the PS2's graphics and probably better



EDIT to answer new question:

using a PS2 controller should be easier to handle than trying to use the numeric keypad on your keyboard to handle moving and looking around

if you play on the PS2, then you can buy a keyboard to connect to your PS2 so you can type quicker, if you're playing on the PC, then you can buy an adaptor to connect a PSX or PS2 controller to your PC for easier control

overall the control interface doesn't change very much and both need accesories to work really well

Ok that opens me up to 2 more questions.

1. if i buy both versions will i be able to log on 2 characters from the same account

2. if buy both will i be able to start a character on the playstation version log him off then play him on the pc version

unfortunately I don't have definite answers to either of these questions, but I will give you my understanding of the issues involved:

1. if i buy both versions will i be able to log on 2 characters from the same account

most likely not, you'd have to have two seperate accounts to be able to play FFXI at the same time on both PC and PS2, this would most likely be the case in order to prevent piracy of the games and not allow multiple individuals (say a group of friends) to play using one account



2. if buy both will i be able to start a character on the playstation version log him off then play him on the pc version

most likely yes, one of the developers of FFXI disclosed in an interview that there should be no problems playing an account created on the Japanese PC version on an English PC client, therefore the same should hold true for moving from English PC to English PS2 (do note that English PC should be available a few months before English PS2)

ahhh lol they should release them at the same time..ps2 players will be logging on and be called noobs by all the people already at the highest lvl :p wait I also heard that we will be playing with the japanese doesnt that mean we all will be logging on to people already max lvl :dead:
