hey guys Im planning on being a Samurai and have narrowed it down to hume or elvaan. But sub job is still up for grabs. now keep in mind I will have a permanent paladin in my party so I will not ever need taunt. So this is a purely stats wise descision
So most say Warrior, but monk = good hp, and theif = faster attack?
help me out plz and if you can compare elvaan and hume stats at level 65 because im having trouble deciding race also :)
To my knowlage...
Warrior: Stronger attack
Monk: More HP
Thief: Faster attack
This is what I think... but Warrior is the best to me..

THF DOES NOT MAKE YOUR ATTACK GO ANY FASTER!!!!
I don't know how many times I've said that on the threads, I don't know where the hell people get that idea.
and why would you need to sub monk for the hp if your pld friend is always going to be tank.

no, I wasn't
but seriously, everyone assumes that thf makes you attack faster
and I have no clue why
It's just because thief's are known to do fast attacks when it comes to there stealing skills. That's Why I thought Thief's did quick attacks.
hehe THF sounds fast no wonder ^^ it definitely give you a little extra DEX but DEX actually only helps with accuracy. (as i think)
A Samurai is someone who runs up to the front of enemy, announce their own names and kill their target up front :spin:
Wouldn't be so Samurai-like if you sneak behind someone and back stab right?
you'll have to harakiri yourself if you do that hehe. it's the Samurai way of life

eh?
I was under the impression that thieves had really low dex, that's why every thief I see has every dex increasing equipment they can get their rich little hands on.
although, I never really bothered to check/ask/care : P
^^ haha
THF is the second highest DEX job ^^ highests is ninja
as THF we get our most powerful attack using our abilities, so we don't worry much about STR. and we don't need to let the enemy hit us at all so we don't care defense power either :)
all it matters is when we do a renkei with our sneak+decieve attack ability, we want it to do maximum damage as much as we can. and we want to make our attack hit as much as we can to charge up TP as fast as possible.
most powerful attacks we got are multiple-attack types of WS. like viperbite(2 hit) combo(3hit) rangei(5hit) and dancing edge(5hit)
if our DEX is not high enough, those multiple-hit WS might only hit once instead of 5, and it will shows a huge difference :)
hmm well that's THF's life. attack attack attack, wait TP and sneak+decieve ability then boom 75% HP of the enemy is gone :P

Actually, it seems that the patch changed all of that: now, if thief is a subjob, backstab and deceiving attack are basically worthless.
