I say go with warrior, but that's my opinion since as a warrior you can begin training your bow skills and you'll have abilities that'll help you later on.

^ Yes very good idea, but THF (C-) actually has an even better bow skill than warrior (D) RDM can use bow skill also (D).

I would suggest level either WAR or RDM to 18. Than once you do lvl 18 quest to get sub job, use THF to lvl 30 (with the WAR or RDM sub).

THF has best bow skill out of those three jobs plus they make the most money. And everyone says the worst thing about RNG is how expensive they are to play so you will want all the money you can get. Once THF reaches 30, become a RNG/THF

Also, RNG best melee weapon is dagger (B-) and THF (A-), WAR (B-) and RDM (B) are all good with a dagger so you can be raising your dagger skill as well in preperation to play RNG.

THis is educated guessing...I've never played. But it seems to make sense to me. Just my two cents.

Well I said warrior cause I'm a warrior fanboy. :p

Anyway, even though your character won't get the extra damage from warrior, THF's money scavenging is probably gonna be more important to you anyway. It won't make you incredibly rich, but the extra gil does add up to extra ammo you otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.

Any serious ranger will want to level up their bow skills as fast as possible, therefore pick a job that can equipt them. Even though warriors have a lower rating and the skill cap is lower, it still counts. I'd prefer to be a RGN/WAR shooting for more damage than a RGN/THF at the same level as me. The RGN/THF however might be able to afford more ammo, and possibly a few rounds of bullets for occasional battles. However, a RGN/WAR would get a party faster since he does more damage(w/ and w/o the gun) and has taunt(can be a backup tank). A RGN/THF would hit the target more times than a RGN/WAR would... so it's kinda a tradeoff only the person at hand can decide.

While I'm going to be a melee swordsman at heart(a DRK), I will try a RGN sometime during my life. I'll get my first bow as a WAR just to play around with it, but I'll strictly be trying to level up my 1H, 2H, and Scythe skills. I don't think I'll ever buy a gun though...
