Will I need a DVD drive?

I just thought about it and I dont have a DVD Drive on my computer...Is the FFXI disk DVD? If so then I'm goin to have to go out and buy one....

I'm hoping to get the Playstation 2 version. I would think it wouldn't matter though. I don't think so??

The PS2 version is on a DVD. The one on PC is on several CD-Roms.

PC version is 4 CD-Roms :

1 for the Play Online install and Tetra Triad
3 for the actual game since it's 3.5 Gig

Careful since the game need at least 5 Gig on your HD.

Is it wise to buy the imported version or just wait for the U.S version to come out? ( and i dunno jap thats why im wondering if its wise to get it now, ) i know its a self answered question but if you were in the situation even tough that people have the imported version already would you have done this or just waited for the u.s one to come out.

Well actualy I'm in the same situation. I don't really know if I wanna import since it's kinda expensive and we don't really know if the NA version will come out soon. I don't really wanna spend 150$ Canadian to get an import if I could actually buy it a few weeks later.

I'm pretty sure I'll import it anyway even if I can't read japanese yet cause the PC version won't come out until this summer IMO.
It's easy to play with the translated menu on FFXIonline.

so basicaly the anwser lies within your true desire to play the game.

on PS2 it's a DVD but on PC it's on CD-ROM, so maybe the Expansion on PC will be 2 CDs... I dunno.

anyway, let's worry about having the game first :biggrin:
