This has probably been answered 1000 times before on this board, but instead of searching through all those posts, I'll ask.
1.What would you recommend first of all? Importing, or waiting until it comes out in English.
2.How would I get an account? Is it a website or do I enter it right into the game?
3.How much does an imported HDD cost, and is the imported HDD compatible with US PS2s?
4.Once I create a character, would I ever be able to bring him onto the US version? Would I need to make a totally new account for the US version, or could I just use the Japanese account on it?
For anyone who answers my questions, I really appreciate it. Thank you!

1. Import! It's awesome!
2. You create an account using in-game software before you even begin to play. This site has a great translation/walkthrough that will help a ton.
3. No idea on the cost. The Import HDD is NOT compatible with the US PS2.
4. Yeah you will. It's easy to bring your account over to another computer, and the process should be exaclty like bringing your account over to the English version.

Ah, thanks very much!
-Another thing, first of all, where can I find the import game with the expansion(PC). And what would you recommend my RAM be at(and for that matter, which video card should I get)? My ram's at about 190MB right now

I imported from http://www.ncsx.com/:handsdown. They're extremely reliable, but most people use http://shop.himeya.com/, though I've been hearing people complain that it takes too long:sweat:.
As for RAM the back of the box says 128 MB wich sounds ok, I've got 384 MB, and my new machine will have 1 Gig. As for video cards, the game is supposed to make extra use of the NVIDIA GeForce series. I've got a GeForce 3 AGP, with 64 MB and it works fine.
My only warning is make sure you are using Windows 2000 or XP. WINDOWS ME IS THE DEVIL:mad:  , I know this from first hand experience. It's no fun having the game for a week and not being able to play it:dead:...

I completely agree. I had ME for about a year until I started getting numerous blue screens of death and other crap. Now I have XP Pro and I couldn't be happier.:handsdown

Thanks for the advice! As for my OS, I have a pretty outdated comp. I still use 98!! (though it says it is compatible with FF11..) I will get a ram upgrade a new video card.. I hope it runs okay on my comp ::crosses fingers::..

Ugh...98. I had that too for a while, it's just as bad as ME. In fact XP is the only stable OS I've ever had. Everything Microsoft has done up until XP has been garbage, in fact. I'm happy now though and that's all that matters. Now all I have to do is start upgrading my hardware.

yeah I've read that some players that have a different OS than XP cant play really well and FFXI always bugs out or this kinda thing

Some games now a days require that you have at least 256 and recommend at least 516.
