99 BCNM Giddeus ... We almost won until....

The fight turned out really good. We killed 4 birds. Only 2 left.
All of us already expected a sure victory...... until...

... until suddently, the stupid Ninja bird used 2 hour ability self-explosion TT
980+ damage to all PT members in such a wild range.....
no one was expecting that at all.... we all died together all at once.

TT anyway to prevent that??????

There is no real way to stop it from happening. Which is why you should always fight the Ninja last. That way you can make sure all of you have max HP when it explodes and give damage to it as fast as possible.

When fighting BCNMs with monsters having damaging attacks (summoner, ninja), you should always leave it to the last. And then drag it out easily of the big area. Even if you all die, you'll be able to reraise and go again...

I just wish it dropped the grapple instead of the warrior axe tho, the last time we fought ^^;

can ba-fire reduce damage? or fire carol? will stoneskin help?

No, if your HP is full, you should be able to survive the explosion. My PT had 2 tarus (1 thf 1 whm) and both survived it (although the whm got killed right after as the ninja did a wide area attack ^^;) Dragging it out is just for safety reason ("just in case")

Stoneskin helps, but I don't think bafire or carol works (doesn't hurt to cast them tho). Explosion damage is determined by enemy's HP, so just try to deal damage fast when it was about to explode.

Yeah, that was after the 4/15 patch (last saturday?) with bebe and oosh :)

Stoneskin protects about 100 some odd damage. The only thing you can do is run the hell away when beginning battle with it and be at max range. Me and bebe moved back but still got hit. The only reason I survived was because I was elvaan.

i fought 2 times those birds....
we always leave th ninja for the last.
the first fight i survived with only 48 hp...lol
and 2nd one, i dont think he exploded at all, or i wasnt paying attention...
the first one dropped the axe, second is the rdm only sword, is that what u after? w

Uh, 50 BCNM is the only one that will drop those spells...
