Lion/Special NPCs

Does anyone know if you have to do some mission or quest to actually see the special npcs like Lion? Also, does anyone got any information about Lion? (She looks like she would be from kingdom hearts in a way)

Lion makes a couple of appearances in Mission 6, but that's all I've seen.
