If anyone is interested in importing, toysnjoys.com is taking pre-orders for a Midnight Blue PS2 coming out June 12th, which they say has the HDD and NA built in, for only 389 bucks. I think it's something they're throwing together, because I can't find info on a PS2 coming out like that anywhere. Good deal either way. Anyway, I've got a few probably very stupid questions:

1)I can use the JP NA right? I'm assuming the JP and US NA's are identical, but I'm not sure if there's some problem that would prevent me from using the JP NA in the US. This is probably a very stupid question, but for 400 bucks, I want to make sure I'm doing this right.

2)Anybody know if US and JP HDD's will be interchangable? Based on this:

Q: If you have a Japanese FFXI account, will you be able to play on the US English Client?
A: At this point, it has not been decided for sure, but currently we see no reason to restrict it. So, if you have a Japanese account and decide to play on a friend's English client, they should still be able to. However, they will lose their Japanese support and language as everything will be in English. The only difference that will remain is that your registration information will be restricted to remain a Japanese address, name, etc.

hopefully we can buy the US version, install, and just sign on with our JP characters (Hopefully, if I'm understanding that right), but if not, I was curious if I could use the JP HDD on my US unit, so I could not have to buy a US HDD.

3)I remember reading a long time ago, when dealing with import systems, that Japanese power outlets deal with a different amount of voltage (I believe it was less), and that to risk not frying your system, you should buy some sort of power/voltage converter thing. Anybody know anything about that?

Thanks for the help, I just want to make sure I'm getting everything right before I blow most of a paycheck :p. Thanks!
