Names in FFXI

i dont kno if this bin asked but can anybody use like your same name just by adding like numbers and shyt like dat like for example my names gona be clyde in ffxi can someone jus go clyde1 or -clyde- etc.

If I remember correctly, space,number and other characters other than letter cant be written in the name but Im not sure at 100%

No, all PC names must begin with a capitalized first letter, followed by lowercased letters. Symbols, numbers, or spaces may not be added. Square most likely did this for cosmetic purposes, and not having dashes and symbols makes personal messaging (/tell) a whole lot easier.

Only NPCs can have dashes and spaces in their names.

how is this true when i've seen plenty of screenshots with people having spaces in their names ????

As I stated before, NPCs can have spaces and dashes in their names. The screenshots you saw had NPCs in the background and you mistaked them for playable characters.

NPC's names are green are they not?? if so , then im not mistaken because the names i saw where white .... ill try to find a some proof ...
