Since the recent news concerning the release of the playstation 2 version of final fantasy XI i am struck into serious contemplation on wether or not to wait for the said release, so i thought i would get an opinion from the fellow gaming community on something that might help me out greatly, Do any of you know wether or not you will be able to use your account and characters from the pc version on the playstation 2 version when it comes out? Because you see i only scored a 1400 on the bench mark test the last time i tried which was last year any and all input on this subject would be most welcomed and in any case that this subject has already been discussed i apologize for the duplication of a subject that might have been covered.

Thanks
Robert

There has been a lot of speculation and debate around here over whether those who are importing now will be able to play with their JP characters on the NA version, but there is no official word on the subject so far. This uncertainty is one of the many reasons that I haven't imported (and never will).

There are those with other opinions, though. And many think they have their own "proof" that it will in fact be possible. You should try to find the old threads on the subject (which are many and lengthy) and decide for yourself.
:)

Edit:
Since I just reread your question and am not sure exactly what you mean by "pc version to playstation2 version": transfer from NA PC version to NA PS2 version will of course be possible, just as it is possible from JP PC to JP PS2. Because you are playing the exact same world whether you are playing PC or PS2 version. It is just the cross-continental question which is uncertain.

I thank you i didn't expect such a quick or polite response in fact now that i notice most people here are generally helpfull and polite it doesn't make me dreed the NA release because of all the (for lack of a better word) testosterone that flies around lol But back to the subject at hand i will search to see if i can find the old topics and still welcome any more proof or speculation on the community's part because i value your opinions and as gamers i believe you all are well aware how from past experiences and your capability's as searchers i'm sure you can or do know the answer.

Thanks
