*PC version*

2004? What are they on? Final Fantasy is my favorite series. i have looked forward to this game more than any game in the past. I regret to say when this game does finally come out here its going to have serious lack in the graphics department.

Have you seen the graphics and plans for Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft? This game is going to be outdated before it even comes out. They are making a brick wall for themselves. The game will flop here if it doesnt have some lead time before those other 2 games come out.:mad:

You mean the PS2 version, the PC version comes out 3-4 months BEFORE the PS2 version. They say it'll come in October.

Edit: And what exactly do graphics do for a game? Make it look good? About it. Graphics don't MAKE the game good.

It will still have good graphics for the PS2 by Q1 2004. If it were PC, that would not be the case.

The game may look dated, but it will be a HUGE benefit to have (almost 2-3 years?) of game balancing and history in Japan. Unlike many MMORPGs brought to the market these days, FFXI should be fully functioning and relatively well balanced, and the overall fun factor should be up there. The game world will be complete, and US gamers will benefit from the experiences learned from running FFXI in Japan.

Eh, World Of Warcraft looks a little better than the original EQ, and so - BOOOOO. And also, EQ2 looks good, but it won't play like that (With those graphics) or it'll lag like a motherfucker. kthnx.

Just because those games (EQ2, SWG what ever) got a more detailed character doesn't mean they gonna look better :rolleyes:

it's the design element. it's the life and soul in the character that makes it alife and immense.

I've looked at many EQ2 clips. all i can say is, the characters in there are just polygons. they are not breathing, or having any souls for me to feel like characters in FF XI :rolleyes:

for more clear example, EQoA just released like a month. compare it's graphic to FF XI :thumbsup: don't forget FF XI released earlier than EQoA like a whole YEAR.

I just gotta say, have you seen the korean game that is #1 in the world for MMORPG's? I forgot the name, starts with an L. It's got like some ungodly ammount of people playing it online, like over a million or something. If you have seen the GFX for that game, they SUCK! It looks worse then Diablo 1 :p Yet for some reason they eat it up, america is one of the few places hell bent on GFX. (I have played the game in question, I belive the game sux0rz, so no accounting for taste.)

go download the game and play for 7 days free trial.. and btw, if u do try the 7 day trial, dont use it on the live servers.. beucase that 7 days of trial will get u no where on the liveservers :) use the 7 days on the test server ^_^


and just my own opion, i think most "american" made mmorpg sux. the best ones are korean made mmos.

It might not 'lose' me to WoW, but I will most DEFINETLY get that as well :) WoW is #1 on my list of MMORPG's. They are going to make it so you can have a massive battle :) Aka, you can lvl quicker by making a party of a few people, then going out to kill 10~20 mobs at a time. Like an epic battle :) Instead of just pulling 1 monster, killing it, pulling another, killing it, ect, ect.

I can't wait to see how it works :)

Oh yeah! That was my point, Lineage, thanks for remembering the name. IMHO, that game blowz hard, DAoC, EverCrack, well, just about any other MMORPG is 1000times better then that game. I did play it, and I would much rather break out Diablo 1 and play that instead. And yes I have played it, for 30 days, I decided not to pay for another month because I was horribly dissapointed by it.

Amazing game play? Wow, that just goes to show you how much diffrence in opinion there can be between two people. I belive it was soooo lackluster that I could have been better using my time painting, or pulling my own toe nails out.

And yet, millions of people in Asia dissagree with me. BTW, Lineage only has about 20K americans playing it... We for some reason ain't into that kind of game play. *shrugs*

why do u think lineage blow ass?

ill list all the reasons why lineage is better than all of the current mmorpgs..

its not just hit and lvl up. there are other stuff to do, fight ppl at combat zone, duels, arenas, blow weapons and armors. seige castles, take over castles, and so much more.

the enchanmetn system the game offers is just so much better than all those other where theres like 10000000 diff armor and weapons. basically, in the game, there are enchant scrolls dropped by hard monsters that allows u to make ur armor weapon stronger, and when u use it , it beocme stronger, and after so many +, there is a chance of it "blowing" gone, and this is something i personally do alot when i have so much money lyin around and want to become stronger.

sieges, in lineage, pledges (clans) are not just a stupid group where u only chat to clanmates, it is something more in depth, a pledge is basicly led by a prince, a player... and this prince can laid seiges on casltes in the game, and make huge warfares and such.. so bascially u can fight other guilds for casltes and stuff.....

there is pvp which makes the game not as boring.

there are so many bosses, and these dragons which is extrememly hard.. to kill........

there are arenas............
